(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천강화경찰서가 지난 8일 경찰서 2층 소회의실에서 각 과장, 파출소장, 계·팀장 등이 참석한 가운데 제59대 정종두 강화경찰서장의 취임식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

강화서에 따르면, 이날 정종두 서장은 취임식에 앞서 경찰서 서정 내 故정옥성 경감 흉상을 찾아 참배하고 고인의 숭고한 희생정신을 기리는 것으로 공식 업무를 시작했다.

정종두 서장은 취임사에서 “기본과 원칙 그리고 현장에 충실해야 하며 주민의 눈높이에 맞는 정성 치안을 구현함으로써 주민의 어려움을 먼저 찾아 해결하고 주민께 사랑받는 당당한 강화경찰이 되어야 한다”고 당부했다.

정종두 서장은 1989년 경찰에 입문해 인천계양서 형사과장, 인천청 홍보계장, 전남 곡성경찰서장, 인천자치경찰위원회 자치경찰정책과장 등 주요 요직을 역임했다.
