(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 2일, 기후변화 대응과 탄소중립 사회 실현을 위해 신재생에너지 보급 확대를 중심으로 한 에너지 전환 정책을 단계적으로 추진하고 있다고 밝혔다.

계양구에 따르면, 신재생에너지 보급은 기후위기 대응과 에너지 구조 전환을 위한 핵심 과제로, 계양구는 중앙정부 공모사업 참여와 자체 사업 추진을 통해 지역 여건에 맞는 보급 정책을 지속적으로 운영 중이다.

계양구는 ‘신재생에너지 설비 보급’ 정책으로 신재생에너지 융복합지원, 미니태양광 보급, 주택지원사업, 신재생에너지 확대기반 조성, 공공기관 신재생에너지 설치 의무화 등 다양한 사업을 통해 재생에너지 설비 보급을 단계적으로 확대해 왔다.

이러한 재생에너지 보급 확대와 탄소중립 정책 추진 과정에서, 지난해에는 ‘2025년 재생에너지 보급 확대 유공’으로 인천광역시장 표창을 수상했다.

특히, 계양구는 산업통상자원부 주관 ‘신재생에너지 융복합지원사업’ 공모에서 2023년부터 2026년까지 4년 연속 선정돼 관련 사업을 추진하고 있다. 

이번 사업은 주택과 건물의 유휴 공간에 태양광·태양열·지열 등 다양한 신재생에너지 설비를 설치·지원하는 내용으로, 도시가스 미공급 지역과 에너지 취약계층, 복지시설 등의 에너지 이용 여건 개선하는 데 목적이 있다.

2026년에는 수요 맞춤형 에너지원 다각화를 통해 지역 내 주택과 일반건물 등 총 15개소에 태양광 59㎾, 태양열 28㎡, 지열 17.5㎾ 설치를 지원할 계획이다.
