(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천대학교가 9일, 본교 산하 무한상상연구소가 운영하는 ‘스타브릿지센터’사업이 한국과학창의재단에서 실시한 운영 결과 평가에서 최고 등급인 ‘매우 우수’를 받았다고 밝혔다.

인천대에 따르면, 스타브릿지센터는 교사-학계-연구기관을 연계하여 교사가 연구에 직접 참여하고, 첨단 과학기술 연구 경험을 토대로 과학교육 프로그램을 개발하여 학교 현장에 보급하는 사업이다.

인천대학교 스타브릿지센터는 대학의 나노 초고속 현상 연구실(물리학과)에서 첨단 광기술(AFM 등)을 활용한 물체의 성질 분석 연구를 심도있게 진행해 왔다. 

특히, 전국 단위로 선발된 교사들과 함께 연구를 수행하며 전문적인 과학교육 프로그램을 성공적으로 개발한 점이 이번 평가에서 높게 인정받았다.

또한, 센터는 개발된 첨단과학기술 프로그램을 교사 연수, 과학키움캠프, 지역사회 프로그램 등을 통해 현장에 적극적으로 보급했다. 

이를 통해 학생들이 과학 분야에서 자신의 적성과 재능을 발견할 수 있는 질 높은 교육 기회를 제공하며 지역 과학교육 활성화에 기여했다는 평이다.
