(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자)  도성훈 인천교육감이 7일 오전 10시 30분께, 인천시교육청 영상회의실에서 병오년을 맞아 출입 기자들과  ‘신년 기자 간담회’를 가졌다.

도성훈 인천교육감은 이날 간담회 자리에서 “인천교육을 한 단계 더 발전시키기 위해 2026년 세 가지 방향에서 변화를 만들어 가고자 한다” 며 “학교현장의 실질적인 지원 강화와 ‘생각하는 교육’, ‘질문하는 교육’, ‘움직이는 교육’으로 깊이 있는 교육 혁신 이루겠다”고 밝혔다.

새로운 희망과 다짐으로 2026년을 맞아 이렇게 인사드리게 되어 뜻깊게 생각합니다.

지난 한 해 동안 교육 현장은 그 어느 때보다 많은 변화와 도전에 직면해 있었습니다.

교육 환경은 빠르게 변화하지만, 여전히 아이들의 하루는 학교에서 시작되고 학교에서 완성됩니다. 

교육의 변화는 아이들의 배움에 발 맞추어야 하며, 학교에서 체감되는 변화여야 합니다.

저는 교육감으로서 지난 시간, 우리 아이들을 위해 

“인천학생들은 저마다 결대로 성장하고 있는가?”

“교육청이 현장의 목소리를 경청하며, 필요한 역할을 하는가?”

“인천교육이 교육가족과 인천시민의 기대에 부응하는가?”

끊임없이 질문하고 답을 찾기 위해 노력해 왔습니다.

새해를 맞은 지금, 우리는 더욱 분명한 선택의 기로에 서 있습니다. 

우리교육청은 이러한 시대 변화에 대응하며 인천교육을 한 단계 더 발전시키기 위해 2026년 세 가지 방향에서 변화를 만들어 가고자 합니다.

첫째, 학교현장의 실질적인 지원 강화입니다.

학교가 교육 본연의 역할에 집중할 수 있도록 교육청의 지원 역할을 더욱 강화하겠습니다. 

특수교육을 비롯한 모든 유․초․중․고교의 교육여건 개선 과제를 발굴하고 신속하게 실행하겠습니다.

현장의 목소리를 정책의 출발점으로 삼겠습니다. 

작년에 이어 올해도 제2의 학교현장지원 100대 과제, 제2의 특수교육 여건개선 33대 과제를 현장과 함께 새롭게 만들고 이행하며, 학교 현장에 실질적인 도움이 되도록 최선을 다하겠습니다. 

둘째, ‘생각하는 교육’, ‘질문하는 교육’, ‘움직이는 교육’으로 깊이 있는 교육 혁신을 이루겠습니다.

지금은 인간, 자연, AI가 공존하고 협력해야 하는 시대입니다. 인간보다 1만 배 똑똑한 초인공지능 시대 또한 도래합니다.

아이들이 기계문명에 끌려가지 않도록, 배움의 능동성과 AI 활용성을 결합한 인천만의 AI 교육을 펼치겠습니다. 

우리 아이들이 스스로 생각하고 질문하는 활기찬 배움 속에서 건강하게 성장하며, 인간성을 갖춘 돌파력을 바탕으로 저마다 행복한 미래를 만들어 갈 수 있도록 돕겠습니다.

셋째, 지역과 함께 학생들의 다양한 성장경로를 만들겠습니다.

학교교육은 더 이상 담장 안에만 머물 수 없습니다. 

지역의 문화, 산업, 대학, 기관들과 연결될 때 교육은 비로소 현실이 됩니다. 

올해는 지역 맞춤형 교육모델을 확대하고, 학교 밖 배움과 진로 연계를 강화하여 아이들이 ‘인천에서 배우고 자라 세계시민으로 성장할 수 있다’는 가능성을 체감하도록 하겠습니다. 

이는 공교육의 역할을 확장하는 중요한 개혁 과제입니다.

이러한 변화는 교육청 혼자만의 힘으로는 불가능합니다.

교육청의 실질적인 현장지원, 학교 현장의 실천, 학부모와 지역사회의 신뢰, 그리고 언론의 건설적인 역할이 함께할 때 완성될 수 있습니다. 

‘서로의 차이를 존중하되, 공통점을 찾아 함께 나아간다’는 존이구동의 마음이 인천교육의 새로운 변화를 만들어낼 것입니다.

교육이 변하면 아이들의 미래가 바뀌고, 아이들의 미래가 바뀌면 우리 모두의 내일이 바뀐다고 믿습니다.
