인천시교육청에 따르면, 2026년부터 도시 학생들에게 농어촌 학교에서의 특별한 교육 경험을 제공하는‘말랑갯티학교’농어촌유학 프로그램 모집 대상을 전국으로 확대해 프로그램 활성화를 추진한다.

2026년 농어촌유학은 강화·옹진 지역의 특색을 살린 교육과 주말 체험프로그램을 제공하며 유학생과 재학생 간 교류를 강화하기 위한 ‘함께섬 놀이프로그램’도 새롭게 지원한다.

올해 본격 운영된 ‘말랑갯티학교’는 참여 가정의 96%가 유학 기간 연장을 신청할 정도로 높은 만족도를 보였다. 

유학 기간은 학교별로 6개월 또는 1년이며, 연장 신청을 통해 학생들은 최대 3년 동안 유학경비를 지속적으로 지원받을 수 있다.

인천시교육청 관계자는 “강화와 옹진은 수도권이라는 지리적 이점과 특색 있는 농어촌유학 프로그램을 갖추고 있다”며 “더 많은 학생이 자연 속에서 성장할 기회를 얻을 수 있도록 지원을 확대하겠다”고 말했다.
