(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 법무부(장관 정성호)가 12일, 소년원 교정교육 내실화를 통해 2025년 한 해 동안 249명의 소년원 학생이 고졸 검정고시에 합격했고, 이들에게 대학 입시설명회 및 진학 컨설팅을 제공하여, 130명의 소년원 학생이(수시전형 100명,  수능 응시 30명) 2026학년도 대학 입시에 도전하고 있다고 밝혔다.

법무부에 따르면, 소년원은 학업을 중단했던 소년원 학생들을 위해 검정고시 특별반을 편성·운영해 왔으며 올해에도 고졸 검정고시에 249명이 합격했다.

전국 소년원에서 시·도교육청 및 대학교 진학 관계자를 초청하여 총 13회에 걸쳐 282명의 학생들에게 대학 입시설명회와 맞춤형 진학 컨설팅 프로그램을 제공함으로 학생들이 자신에게 맞는 학과를 탐색하고 구체적인 대학 진학 전략을 수립할 수 있게 지원했다.

이러한 노력의 결과, 현재 전국 소년원 학생 100명이 부모와 논의를 통해 대입 수시모집 원서를 접수했고, 30명의 소년원 학생은 11월 13일에 치뤄지는 2026학년도 대학수학능력시험에 응시하여 대학 진학이라는 새로운 목표를 향해 도전하고 있다.
