지원 대상은 인천시에 6개월 이상 주민등록을 두고 거주 중인 임산부로, 임신 12주부터 출산일 포함 90일 이내에 신청해야 한다.

신청은 원칙적으로 정부24(보조금24) 온라인 신청을 통해 가능하다. 

다만, 다문화 외국인이나 청소년 산모 등 온라인 신청이 어려운 경우에는 배우자 등 대리인이 관할 행정복지센터를 방문해 신청할 수 있다. 

전기차 사용 임산부가 현금 지원을 원할 경우에는 차량 연료 유형 확인을 위한 자동차 등록증과 신청인 명의 통장 사본을 추가로 제출해야 한다.
