(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 부천시 원미도서관이 오는 8월 5일부터 8월 8일까지, 여름방학을 맞아 국립어린이청소년도서관과 연계한 독서프로그램을 운영한다고 밝혔다. 

원미도서관에 따르면, 중학생을 대상으로 국립어린이청소년도서관 공모사업인 ‘메타버스 기반 독서토론 프로그램’을 진행하고, 초등학생을 대상으로는 책을 읽고 자유롭게 생각을 나누는 여름방학 독서 교실을 운영할 계획이다.

이번 프로그램은 참여자들의 독서에 대한 흥미를 높이고 창의적 사고력과 문제 해결력을 키울 수 있는 환경을 만드는 것을 목표로 한다.

메타버스 기반 독서 프로그램은 중학생 12명을 대상으로 8월 5일부터 7일까지 총 3회에 걸쳐 진행된다. 

참가자들은 ‘인공지능 쫌 아는 10대’ 등 무상으로 제공된 책 3권을 읽고, ‘인공지능의 창작활동’, ‘소년 범죄’, ‘로봇세’를 주제로 메타버스 플랫폼 ‘우주 토크’를 활용해 토론에 참여한다.

여름방학 독서 교실은 초등학교 4학년 15명을 대상으로 8월 5일부터 8월 8일까지 총 4회 진행된다. 

참가 어린이들은 ‘기체가 보이다니’ 등 동화 4권의 구연을 듣고, 책을 통해 느낀 생각을 자유롭게 표현하는 시간을 갖는다.

출석률과 총점에 따라 수료증과 수료 기념품이 지급되며, 우수 활동 어린이에게는 국립어린이청소년도서관 관장상이 수여된다.

메타버스 프로그램 참가 신청은 7월 8일 오전 10시부터, 여름방학 독서 교실 참가 신청은 7월 15일부터 부천시립도서관 홈페이지에서 할 수 있다.

원미도서관 관계자는 “여름방학을 맞아 다양한 독서 프로그램을 통해 참여자들이 논리적 사고를 키우고 타인의 의견을 존중하는 태도를 기르는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 아이들이 즐겁게 책과 토론을 만날 수 있는 독서 환경을 꾸준히 마련하겠다”고 말했다.

Bucheon Wonmi Library announced that it will run a summer vacation reading program in conjunction with the National Children's Library from August 5 to August 8.

According to Wonmi Library, it plans to run a 'Metaverse-based Reading Discussion Program', a National Children's Library contest project, for middle school students, and a summer vacation reading classroom for elementary school students where they can read books and freely share their thoughts.

The goal of this program is to create an environment where participants can increase their interest in reading and develop creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

The metaverse-based reading program will be held for 12 middle school students for a total of three sessions from August 5 to 7.

Participants will read three books provided free of charge, including ‘Teenagers Who Know a Little About AI’, and participate in discussions using the metaverse platform ‘Space Talk’ on topics such as ‘Creative Activities of AI’, ‘Juvenile Crime’, and ‘Robot Tax’.

The summer vacation reading class will be held for a total of four sessions from August 5 to August 8 for 15 fourth graders in elementary school.

Participating children will listen to oral presentations of four fairy tales, including ‘I Can See the Gas’, and have time to freely express their thoughts through the books. Certificates and souvenirs will be awarded based on attendance and total scores, and children with excellent activities will be awarded the Director’s Award of the National Library for Children and Young Adults.

Applications for the metaverse program can be made from 10 a.m. on July 8, and applications for the summer vacation reading class can be made on the Bucheon City Library website from July 15.

A Wonmi Library official said, “We hope that this summer vacation will be an opportunity for participants to develop logical thinking skills and respect others’ opinions through various reading programs,” and “We will continue to create a reading environment where children can enjoy books and discussions.”
