(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 유한대학교가 지난 7월 1일 유재라관 유한아트홀에서 ‘유한대학교 제8대 총장 장은영 박사 취임식’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

유한대에 따르면, 취임식에는 유한학원 최상후 이사장을 비롯한 이사진, 이정희 유한양행 이사회 의장과 조욱제 대표이사 사장을 비롯한 유한 패밀리기업 사장단, 더불어민주당 서영석 의원·김기표 의원·이건태 의원, 수도권 10개 대학 총장과 일본 경제대학교 안도 다이스케 부총장, 부천 지역사회 및 주요 기관 대표 등 주요 인사와 교내 구성원 등 내외빈 300여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.

장은영 총장은 취임사에서 유한대학교의 뿌리이자 철학인 설립자 유일한 박사의 숭고한 사회 환원 정신과 청지기의 소명 의식을 언급하며, “유일한 박사님의 정신을 현대적으로 계승하고, 지속가능한 교육 혁신과 평생직업교육 고도화, 글로벌 역량 강화를 통한 국제화 캠퍼스 실현, 대학의 재정건전성과 투명성 확보 등을 약속한다”며 “교육이 한 사람의 삶을 바꾸고, 그 사람이 세상을 바꾸는 선순환을 만들 수 있도록 총장의 소명을 다하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

유한양행 조욱제 대표이사 사장, 부천시 지역구 국회의원인 이건태 국회의원, 김기표 국회의원, 서영석 국회의원, 조용익 부천시장, 최용섭 한국대학신문 주필 겸 편집인, 일본경제대학교 안도 다이스케 부총장, 최준규 가톨릭대 부총장, 방송연예전공 특임교수이자 배우인 박성웅, 김혜은 교수, 장은영 총장의 제자인 박기문 한국예술사관실용전문학교 전임교수가 축사로 장 총장의 취임을 축하했다.

한편, 장은영 총장은 연세대학교 의생활학과에서 학사와 석사학위를 받은 뒤, 미국 오리건주립대학교 대학원에서 박사학위를 취득했다.
