인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 개정으로 지역상품 우선구매 대상이 기존 물품에서 용역·공사에 필요한 상품 등으로 확대되며, 공공 구매를 통한 지역산업 활성화와 일자리 창출에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
또한, 중증장애인 생산품과 장애인 표준사업장 생산품의 연간 구매 목표 비율을 2%와 1%로 각각 상향해 중증장애인과 장애인 표준사업장 근로자의 일자리 창출과 소득 보장을 지원할 방침이다.
도성훈 교육감은 “이번 개정은 지역경제 활성화와 장애인 복지 증진이라는 두 가지 사회적 가치를 실현하는 중요한 전환점”이라며 “앞으로도 사회적 약자를 배려하고 지역과 상생하는 정책을 지속하겠다”고 밝혔다.
