(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구시설관리공단(이하 ‘공단’)이 30일, ‘제22회 헌혈자의 날’을 맞아 대한적십자사로부터 혈액관리본부장 표창을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

공단에 따르면, 이번 표창은 공단이 2016년부터 지속적으로 추진해온 정기적인 단체 헌혈 활동과 적극적인 생명 나눔 실천 공로를 인정받아 수여된 것으로, 표창은 지난 6월 26일 공단 본부에서 전달됐다.

공단은 헌혈 참여 문화 확산을 위해 대한적십자사 인천혈액원과 업무협약(MOU)을 체결한 이후, 매년 전 직원을 대상으로 정기 헌혈을 실시하고 있다.

지난해에는 총 113명의 직원이 자발적으로 헌혈에 동참하는 등 꾸준한 참여를 이어오고 있다. 

공단은 특히 명절 연휴, 동절기 등으로 혈액 공급이 불안정한 시기에도 안정적인 혈액 확보에 힘을 보탠 점이 높게 평가됐다.

윤낙영 공단 이사장은 “공단의 헌혈 활동이 생명을 살리는 데 보탬이 되어 기쁘게 생각한다”며, “앞으로도 헌혈은 물론 다양한 사회공헌활동을 통해 지역사회에 따뜻한 나눔을 실천하는 공단이 되겠다”고 말했다.
