(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 26일, 어선의 폐신호탄류 수거 및 폐기 지원에 나섰다고 밝혔다.

인천해경에 따르면,  지난 25일 옹진군 영흥파출소 앞 선착장에서 어선의 폐신호탄류 등 폐화공품 62점을 수거했다.

‘어선설비기준’에 의거해 어선에 구비하는 자기발연신호, 로켓낙하신호, 신호홍염 등 구명설비의 내구연한 경과 시 ‘총포·도검·화약류 등의 안전관리에 관한 법률’에 따라 관할 경찰관서에 신고해 폐기해야 한다.

이에 인천해경은 어민들의 폐신호탄류 폐기 불편함을 해소하고 만일의 사고를 예방하고자 적극행정 차원에서 관내 전체 어선을 대상으로 현황을 조사한 뒤 수거, 폐기지원을 실시했다.

인천해경 관계자는 “작은 불씨가 큰 인명사고를 동반하는 만큼 경미한 위험요소도 미리 제거하는 것이 중요하다”며 “앞으로도 중대재해사고 예방을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
