(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청동아시아국제교육원이 지난 14일부터 학생 맞춤형 외국어 학습을 지원하는 ‘슈필라움(Spielraum)’ AI 프로그램을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

동아시아국제교육원에 따르면, ‘슈필라움’은 다독 기반의 영어, 중국어, 일본어 프로그램과 영상 기반 영어 더빙 학습으로 구성됐다.

관내 초·중·고 319개 신청 학교에 제공되며, 학교는 교육과정, 기초학력보장, 자기주도 학습, 방과후 활동 등과 연계하여 다양하게 운영할 수 있다.

2년째 ‘슈필라움’을 운영 중인 한 교사는 "학생들이 수준에 맞춰 시간, 장소 제약 없이 학습 가능한 점이 가장 큰 장점"이라며 사교육비 경감 효과에 대한 기대를 나타냈다.

동아시아국제교육원 관계자는 “학생들이 사교육 없이 자기주도적으로 외국어를 학습하도록 최선을 다해 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 동아시아국제교육원이 오는 4월부터 7월까지 관내 유‧초‧중등 및 특수학교 교직원을 대상으로 ‘2025 교직원 다국어 역량 강화 직무연수’를 운영한다고 밝혔다.

동아시아국제교육원에 따르면, 1인 1외국어 교육 활성화를 위해 운영되는 이번 연수는 교직원의 외국어 능력을 향상시키고 글로벌 교육 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.

연수는 영어, 중국어, 일본어, 러시아어, 베트남어, 태국어 6개 언어를 기본반과 심화반으로 나누어 총 17개 과정으로 진행되며, 동아시아국제교육원의 다국어교육 플랫폼(다락방)을 통해 실시간 온라인 수업으로 운영된다.

연수에 참여하는 교직원은 “이번 연수로 새로운 언어를 배우고 다른 문화를 이해하면서, 글로벌 인재 양성을 위한 교육에 자신감을 얻을 것 같다”고 기대감을 드러냈다. 

동아시아국제교육원 관계자는 “교직원 다국어 의사소통 능력 및 글로벌 직무 역량 강화로, 인천을 품고 세계로 나아가는 인천교육이 학교 현장에서 더욱 활성화되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
