인천시에 따르면, 이는 자치법규 개정 및 내부방침 변경 등 자체적으로 개선이 가능한 사항에 대해 신속하게 조치한 데 따른 결과다.

주요 성과 사례 중 첫 번째는 ‘정년퇴직자 중소기업 고용 연령제한 폐지’다. 

이 사업은 제조업 분야 중소기업의 인력난 해소를 지원하기 위해 정년퇴직 인력을 2년 이상 계속 고용하거나 신규 채용 시 사업주에게 1인당 월 30만 원씩 최대 1년간 지원하는 사업으로, 기존에는 지원 대상이 60세 이상 64세 이하 근로자로 한정되어 있어 중소기업의 인력난 해결에 한계가 있었다. 

이에 인천시는 운영지침을 개정해 지원 대상 연령제한을 폐지하고 60세 이상으로 확대했으며, 지난 3월 17일부터 참가기업 모집을 시작했다.

두 번째는 인천 재직 청년을 위한 복지포인트 지원 자격요건 완화다. 

이 사업은 청년 근로자의 복리후생 증진과 근로의욕 고취를 위해, 인천 관내 중소기업에 3개월 이상 재직한 청년 근로자에게 연 최대 120만 원의 복지포인트를 지원하는 것이다.

지역개발채권은 지방자치단체가 도시개발 및 인프라 확충을 위해 발행하는 채권으로, 매입 대상자가 아니거나 초과 매입 시 중도상환을 거쳐야 한다.
