(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천대학교가 지난 14일부터 오는 18일까지 중간고사 기간 늦은 시간까지 학교에 남아 공부하는 학생들을 위해 ‘천원의 저녁밥’ 사업을 시범 운영한다고 밝혔다. 

인천대에 따르면, 이번 사업은 기존 ‘천원의 아침밥’프로그램을 확대하는 형태로, 학생들의 식비 부담을 덜고 보다 안정적인 학습 환경을 조성하기 위한 실질적인 복지 지원책이다.

신학기부터 운영되고 있는 인천대 천원의 아침밥 사업은 대학생들에게 아침밥을 먹는 건강한 식문화를 확산시키는 것뿐만이 아니라 지금과 같은 고물가 시대에 요구되는 학생복지 실현을 위한 학생 맞춤형 정책으로 자리매김하고 있다. 

올해 인천대는 농림수산식품부와 농림수산식품교육문화정보원이 주관한 ‘2024년 천원의 아침밥 사업’의 참여대학으로 선정되어 재학생을 위한 아침밥을 제공하고 있으며, 인천시에서 진행하는 ‘인천형 천원의 아침밥 사업’에도 참여하여 학생들에게 양질의 아침밥을 제공하고 있다.

새로이 운영되는 천원의 저녁밥 사업은 교내 학생식당에서 4월 14일부터 18일까지 하루 최대 250명의 학생이 천 원이라는 저렴한 가격에 따뜻한 저녁 식사를 제공받을 수 있으며, 이번 사업기간 동안 총 1,250명이 혜택을 누릴 수 있다.

4찬 이상의 백반식 및 건강한 식재료인 쌀을 활용한 죽, 빵 등 다채로운 메뉴를 제공하고, 다양한 학생 참여 이벤트 진행을 통해 시험기간에 지친 학생들에게 색다른 즐거움을 제공할 예정이다.
