(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 12일 중앙도서관에서 고등학생 대표 22명으로 구성된 ‘제5기 인천광역시교육청 학생참여위원회’ 발대식을 개최하고 본격적인 활동을 시작했다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 2021년에 출범해 올해로 제5기를 맞는 인천 학생참여위원회는 초, 중학생으로 구성된 각 교육지원청 학생참여위원 대표와 네트워크를 구축하고, 특히 올해는 교육지원청 학생참여위원회 활성화 지원에 중점을 둘 예정이다.

발대식에서는 위촉장 수여, 학생참여위원회 역할 안내, 선배 위원과의 대화, 분과 조직 및 역할 분담, 대표 선출 등이 진행됐다.

학생참여위원회는 분과위원회 운영을 통해 다양한 교육 정책을 제안하고 사업 집행에 참여하며, 정책 아카데미 운영으로 정책 및 예산편성 역량을 강화할 계획이다. 

하반기에는 100인 토론회에서 교육청에 실질적인 정책 제안을 할 예정이며, 자치활동 강화 및 봉사활동 참여 등을 통해 학생 민주시민의 역할 모델을 제시할 예정이다.

인천시교육청 관계자는 “시민교육에 대한 중요성이 어느 때보다 절실한 이때, 학생참여위원회 활동은 매우 뜻깊다”며 “미래의 주역인 학생들이 존중받으며 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 14일, 인천에 대한 이해를 높이고 학교별 특색을 반영한 다양한 교육과정 연계 활동을 위해 ‘인천바로알기 교육과정 연계 학급(동아리)’ 및 ‘학생 재능기부형 섬에듀투어 동아리’ 16팀을 운영한다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, ‘인천바로알기’ 동아리는 초등 4학년 ‘인천의 생활’과 연계한 5팀, 인천형 세계시민교육 연계 6팀으로 구성되며, 섬에듀투어 동아리는 5팀이 참여한다.

선정된 팀에는 학생 수와 운영 계획에 따라 예산이 지원되고, 담당 교사를 위한 연수도 실시됐다.

교육과정 연계 학급(동아리)은 교과 및 창의적 체험활동과 연계해 15차시 이상의 프로젝트를 운영하고, 인천길 탐방을 2회 이상 실시해야 하며, 학생들은 인천의 역사와 문화, 사회 이슈 등을 현장에서 체험하며 문제 해결 능력을 기르게 된다.

‘섬에듀투어’ 동아리는 학생들의 재능 기부로 섬 지역 사회에 봉사하며, 지역 발전 기여 및 세계시민성 함양을 목표로 한다.

인천시교육청 관계자는“일회성 체험이 아닌 교육과정과 연계한 지속 가능한 프로젝트를 통해 학생들이 인천을 온전히 이해하고 건강한 시민으로 성장하길 바란다”며 “인천을 품고 세계로 나아가는 세계시민으로 자라나길 기대한다”고 말했다.
