(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부평구가 10일, 구청에서 ‘2025년 제1차 교통안전 실무협의체 회의’를 개최하고, 교통사고 예방과 보행자 안전 강화를 위한 협력 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

부평구에 따르면, 교통안전 실무협의체는 구를 비롯해 부평경찰서, 삼산경찰서, 한국도로교통공단, 인천북부교육지원청 등 지역 내 교통안전 관련 유관기관이 참여하는 협의기구이다.

협의체 소속 기관 관계자 13명은 이날 회의에서 실무협의체의 운영 방향과 구성 현황 점검, 교통안전시설 정비, 교통안전 인식 개선을 위한 교육 및 캠페인 추진 등 올해 중점 추진 사업 계획 등을 공유했다.

특히, 이날 회의에서는 ‘교통안전 인식 개선을 위한 교육’과 관련해 교통안전교육의 사각지대에 놓인 어르신을 대상으로 맞춤형 교통안전교육 프로그램을 확대 운영하는 방안 등이 논의됐다.

이를 통해 교통약자를 보호하고, 사고 예방에 실질적인 효과를 거둘 수 있다는 점에서 참석자들의 공감을 이끌어냈다.

이 밖에 교통사고 발생 요인을 사전에 차단하고 보행자 중심의 교통 환경을 조성하기 위한 실효성 있는 협업 방안에 대해 논의도 이뤄졌다.

부평구 관계자는 “앞으로도 교통안전 실무협의체를 중심으로 유관기관 간 협력을 더욱 강화하고, 구민 모두가 안전하게 이동할 수 있는 교통 환경을 만들기 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.
