(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 8일, 인천루원중 교내 부지에 총 사업비 262억 원 예정 규모로 학교복합시설을 건립하는 사업이 행정안전부 중앙투자심사를 통과했다고 밝혔다.

서구에 따르면, 인천 루원중학교 학교복합시설 건립 사업은 학생과 지역주민이 이용할 수 있는 지하 1층~지상 4층, 연면적 5,500㎡ 규모의 복합시설을 조성하는 사업이다. 

서구와 인천시교육청·루원중학교가 함께 추진 중인 사업은 지난 2023년 9월 교육부 학교복합시설 공모에 선정된 후, 2024년 6월 제3차 행정안전부 중앙투자심사에서 재검토 결과를 받았다.

이후 서구는 지역주민·교육청·학교를 아우르는 학교복합시설 추진협의체를 구성하여 회의 개최 결과를 시설 현황에 반영했다. 

특히 시설 용도에 대한 선호도 등 주민 수요를 조사하고, 안전 관리 계획을 수립하는 등 사업을 보완하여 올해 제1차 중앙투자심사를 조건부 통과했다.

행정안전부는 학교복합시설 운영 주체 간 명확한 역할 분담으로 시설 유지 및 관리비용을 최소화하는 지속가능한 운영방안 마련, 기 수립한 안전관리 방안의 철저한 시행을 승인 조건으로 제시했다. 

서구는 중앙투자심사를 통과함에 따라, 건축기획용역을 시행하여 2027년 건립공사 착공·2029년 준공 및 개관을 최종 목표로 사업 추진에 속도를 낼 방침이다.
