(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 관세청 인천공항세관이 지난 3일, 전국 공항세관장과 함께 제주세관 교육관에서 ’2025년도 제1차 전국 공항세관 기관장 협의체' 회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

인천공항세관에 따르면, 협의체는 인천공항뿐 아니라 지방공항으로 확대되고 있는 마약밀수에 전국 공항세관이 유기적으로 대응하고 단속의 효율성을 높이기 위해 작년 9월부터 분기별 정례 회의를 개최하고 있으며, ‘적발정보 공유체계 구축’, ‘여행자 휴대품 통관 전문인력 상호교류’ 등 협의체를 통해 도출한 세관 간 협력과제를 이행하여, 인천공항세관의 단속 강화에 따른 풍선효과로 지방공항 우회반입을 시도한 마약차단에 기여했다.

이날 회의에서는 여행자 휴대품 밀반입 단속 동향을 공유하고 세관 간 효율적인 협력 방안에 대하여 논의했다.

특히, 각 세관의 주요 마약 및 금제품 적발 내용을 전파하고, 세관 간 우범여행자 분석기법, 마약검사장비 활용법 등 단속체계 및 기술 협력에 대한 의견을 교환했다.

또한, 인천공항세관에서 선도적으로 시행 중인 입국심사전 여행자 일제검사와 마약 집중 검사실 운영, 마약 특화 감시전문가 보직관리 방안의 운영 경과를 공유하고, 이를 각 지방공항의 특성에 맞게 도입하는 방안도 함께 검토했다.

회의 후 세관장들은 제주국제공항을 방문하여 제주세관의 우범여행자 감시단속 및 여행자 휴대품 통관 업무 현장도 둘러보았다.

이날 협의회를 주관한 김종호 인천공항본부세관장은,  “본 협의체 회의는 날로 지능화되고 있는 마약, 금괴 등의 밀수단속 대응에 중요한 발판이 될 것”이라며 “전국 공항세관의 긴밀한 협력과 공조를 통해 불법물품 반입 차단에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
