(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천검단소방서가 27일, 산업시설 밀집지역 화재 시 연소확대 방지를 위한 수막설비(검단소방서 특수시책)를 관내 쿠팡4물류센터(갑문4로 25)에 시범설치를 완료했다고 밝혔다. 

검단소방서에 따르면, 수막설비란, 화재 발생 시 물을 미세하게 분무 물막을 형성해 화염 및 복사열에 의한 연소 확대을 억제하며, 화재가 다른 구역으로 전파되는 것을 방지하는 즉 화재방어선을 구축하는 설비다. 

특히 산업단지내 건물 사이의 이격거리가 좁은 샌드위치패널 공장건물에 화재가 발생한 경우 출동한 소방력은 발화점을 진압하기 위한 소방력과 화재확산방지를 위한 소방력으로 분산되는데 수막설비를 설치한 경우 화점에 소방력을 집중하는 공격적 소방전술을 펼칠 수 있게 된다.

검단소방서에서는 지난 2024년 3월 자체 “수막설비 특수시책”을 시작으로 국립소방연구원에 “119리빙랩”을 신청, 24년 7월부터 10월까지 국립소방연구원과 공동으로 수막설비 효과성 검증을 위한 실험을 추진했다.

그 결과 모경종 국회의원과 인천소방본부(본부장 임원섭) 등 관계자들이 참여한 수막설비 공개 시연회를 통해 수막설비의 효과성을 입증했다. 

이후 검단소방서 수막설비 TF팀에서 관내 뷰티풀파크 산업단지에 대해서 수막설비가 설치가능한 대상물(이격거리 2m미만)을 전수조사 했으며, 전수조사대상에 대해 직접 대상물에 방문하여 수막설비에 대하여 설치 목적 및 장점 등을 설명하고 설치희망대상 관계인의 동의(자부담30%)를 얻었다.

앞으로 검단소방서는 3월 제1차 추가경정예산을 신청할 예정이며, 추경안이 확정되는 대로 7월부터 설치희망대상에 대하여 심의회를 거친 후 수막설비 설치를 추진해 나갈 예정이다.

김성덕서장은“검단소방서 관내 공장들의 경우 외장재가 샌드위치 패널로 건축된 점, 공장 간 이격거리가 상당히 좁아 화재발생시 연소를 급속히 확산시키고 있다.”며 “특히 지난해 10월 검단소방서 관내에서 발생한 왕길동 화재의 경우를 보더라도 건물간 이격거리가 좁아 화재가 급속히 확대되어 많은 재산피해를 발생시켰다. 한번 발생한 피해는 회복하기까지 많은 시간과 노력이 필요한 만큼, 앞으로 뷰티풀파크 산업단지를 시작으로 하여 화재확산 방지를 위한 수막설비가 인천 전역으로 추진되어 현재보다 더욱 안전한 인천시가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

또한, 인천검단소방서가 27일, 제38회 전국 소방기술경연대회 인천대표 선발을 위한 기술경연대회에서 화재진압전술 분야 1위를 차지하는 쾌거를 달성했다고 밝혔다.

검단소방서에 따르면, 이번 소방기술경연대회는 인천 지역 각 소방서를 대표해 출전한 소방공무원들이 실력을 겨루는 자리로, 선의의 경쟁을 통해 재난 대응력을 높이는데 목적이 있다.

대회에서 1위를 차지한 검단소방서 대원들에게는 오는 6월 3일부터 5일까지 중앙소방학교에서 열리는 소방청주관 전국 소방기술경연대회에 인천을 대표해 참가하는 기회가 주어진다.

이번 인천 소방기술경연대회에서 1등을 차지한 소방경 정태훈(지휘자), 소방장 강귀원, 소방교 김지옹, 소방사 심예주, 소방사 김도윤, 소방사 양민우는 올해 1월부터 본격적인 훈련에 매진한 결과 오늘과 같은 성과를 얻을 수 있었다.

특히 심예주 소방사는 2024년 2월에 검단소방서에 임용된 2년차 소방공무원으로, 대학을 졸업한 이후 해병대 부사관으로 5년을 근무 후 전역하고 소방관으로 전향했다. 

현재 두 아이의 엄마인 심예주 소방사는, 군인의 경우 전시 상황이 아니면 실전과 같은 상황을 경험하는 상황이 적기에 전역 후 소방공무원으로 도움의 손길이 필요한 사람들에게 직접적으로 도움을 주고 싶어 소방공무원에 지원했고, 현장에서 활동하는 일에 대한 자부심을 느껴 소방기술경연대회 화재진압전술 분야에 선수로 참가하였다고 밝혔다. 

더욱이 여성 소방공무원으로는 생소한 전국 소방기술경연대회 화재진압전술 분야에 선수로 출전하게 돼 주목받고 있다.

조보형 재난대응과장은 “힘든 환경에서도 훈련마다 최선을 다한 대원들의 노력이 오늘로써 첫 번째 목표를 달성할 수 있게 되었다”며 “자체대회를 준비했던 마음가짐으로 올 여름 소방청 주관 소방기술경연대회에서 우리의 최종 목표인 전국우승을 달성할 수 있도록 최선의 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
