부천시에 따르면, ‘부천안심드림주택’은 부천시, LH(한국토지주택공사), 부천희망재단이 협력해 조성한 주거복지 사업으로, 위기상황에 처한 시민들이 보다 안정적인 환경에서 생활하며 빠르게 주거를 회복할 수 있도록 돕는다. 

단순한 임시 거처 제공을 넘어, 부천시 주거복지센터와 연계해 주거복지 사례관리 및 임대주택 신청 지원까지 원스톱으로 제공하는 것이 특징이다.

현재 부천시는 총 5곳의 부천안심드림주택을 운영하고 있으며, 경매로 인한 법원의 퇴거명령, 재건축으로 인한 이주, 화재 피해 등 다양한 이유로 주거를 상실한 시민 20가구에 임시 거처를 제공하고 있다. 

특히, 이용자의 편의를 도모하기 위해 저층 주택 확보를 목표로 LH와 협의 중이다. 이에 따라 기존 운영 중인 5곳 중 1곳(4층, 엘리베이터 없음)을 저층(2층) 주택으로 교체할 예정이며 보다 많은 시민이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 이주 절차를 간소화하고, 신속한 지원이 가능하도록 체계를 개선할 방침이다.
