(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부천시가 지난 5일 조용익 부천시장이 중4동 행정복지센터를 방문해 전국 2단계 모바일 주민등록증 발급 시행에 맞춰 직접 모바일 주민등록증을 발급받았으며 이를 통해 시민들이 더욱 신속하고 편리하게 행정서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 장려했다고 밝혔다.

부천시에 따르면, 모바일 주민등록증은 실물 주민등록증과 동일한 법적 효력을 가진 디지털 신분증으로, 주민등록증을 발급받은 17세 이상이라면 스마트폰에서 사용할 수 있다.

발급 방법은 두 가지다. 

첫 번째는 IC칩이 내장된 주민등록증을 이용하는 방법으로, 행정복지센터에서 IC 주민등록증을 발급받아 직접 스마트폰에 등록하면 된다. 

신규 발급자는 무료이며, 기존 주민등록증을 IC 주민등록증으로 교체할 경우 수수료가 부과된다.

두 번째는 기존 주민등록증을 활용하는 방법으로, 행정복지센터 방문 후 QR 코드를 촬영하면 즉시 발급받을 수 있다. 

발급 비용은 무료이지만, 휴대전화 교체 또는  앱 삭제 시 행정복지센터를 방문해 재발급을 받아야 한다. 

이번 모바일 주민등록증 발급 서비스 도입으로 시민들은 실물 주민등록증 없이도 간편하게 신원을 확인할 수 있어 행정서비스 이용이 한층 더 편리해질 것으로 기대된다.

조용익 부천시장은 “모바일 주민등록증은 시민들에게 보다 편리한 신원 확인 수단을 제공하는 혁신적 서비스”라며 “앞으로도 디지털 행정서비스를 확대해 시민 편의를 더욱 강화하겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 모바일 주민등록증은 현재 주민등록지 관할 기초 지자체 내 행정복지센터에서 발급 가능하며, 오는 3월 28일부터 전국 어디서나 발급 받을 수 있다.
