(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 개청 30주년을 맞아 4일 구청 대강당에서 기념식을 개최하고 ‘새로운 계양! 인천의 중심으로!’라는 미래 비전을 선포했다.

계양구에 따르면, 이날 행사는 계양구가 1995년 3월 1일 북구에서 분구된 지 30년의 해를 맞아, 그간 구민과 함께 이룬 30년의 시간을 되돌아보고, 더욱 살기 좋고 풍요로운 백년대계 계양시대의 시작을 알리기 위해 마련됐다.

기념식은 윤환 구청장을 비롯해 지역 국회의원, 시·구의원, 주요 사회단체장 등 각계각층의 인사와 구민들이 참석한 가운데 축하와 감사의 인사를 나누며 시작됐다. 

행사는 계양구립교향악단의 식전공연으로 시작해, 모범선행구민 등 구정발전 유공자 표창 수여, 개청 30주년 기념영상 시청, 기념사와 축사, 계양구립여성합창단 축하공연 순으로 진행됐다.

아울러, 기념식 후에는 구청 남측광장에서 30주년을 기념하는 포토조형물 퍼포먼스와 기념식수 식재가 이어졌다. 

이날 행사는 계양구 개청 30주년을 구민과 함께 축하하며 기념하는 자리로, 다채로운 행사와 프로그램으로 진행돼 더욱 특별한 시간이 됐다. 

윤환 구청장은 기념사를 통해 “분구 이후 우리 계양은 그린벨트와 군부대 탄약고, 공항 고도제한 등 온갖 규제를 한꺼번에 떠안았지만, 지난 30년 동안 구민과 함께 수많은 역경을 담대히 이겨내며 과감히 변화하고 비상하는 도시로 발전해 왔다.”고 말했다. 

이어 “새로운 30년을 넘어 계양의 미래세대가 꿈과 희망을 품을 수 있는 100년의 미래를 위해 더욱 힘차게 준비해 나가겠다.”고 포부를 밝혔다.
