(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 5일, 2024년도 인천시 군․구 행정실적 종합평가에서 ‘교통분야 1위’에 선정됐다고 밝혔다.

계양구에 따르면, 구의 이번 성과는 지난해 ‘교통안전지수’ 전국 69개 자치구 단위 1위, 2024년 ‘교통문화지수’ 전국 3위에 연이은 결과로서, 계양구가 교통 분야에서 정책의 우수성을 대내외적으로 인정받고 있다.

교통분야 평가는 ‘교통안전문화 정착을 위한 각종 시책사업 추진’, ‘택시 및 화물자동차 운수사업 추진’, ‘주차장 확충 및 이용 활성화’ 등 5개 분야에서 정량평가와 정성평가를 합산하여 실시됐다. 

특히, 계양구는 교통안전 캠페인 활성화, 교통안전협의체(계양경찰서, 녹색어머니연합회, 모범운전자회) 운영 활성화, 어린이․노인보호구역 개선 사업 강화, 교통수단 안전점검 등 교통사고 예방을 위한 노력에서 우수한 실적을 보였다. 

또, 지난해 ‘계양구청 남측 계산2공영주차장’ 확충으로 계산택지 상업지역 일대 심각한 주차난 해소 등 주차장 확충 및 이용 활성화 분야에서도 좋은 평가를 받았다.

또한, 계양구가 5일, 올해 평생교육 분야 공모사업에서 4개 사업이 선정돼 1억 2천만 원의 사업비를 확보했다고 밝혔다. 

계양구에 따르면, 이번 공모 선정은 지역사회 평생교육의 기회를 확대하고, 장애인 및 성인 학습자에 지원 강화를 위한 토대를 마련한 점에서 의미가 크다.

선정된 사업은 교육부 주관 1개 공모사업, (재)인천인재평생교육진흥원 주관 3개 공모사업이다.
