(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천서부소방서가 5일, 봄철 건설현장 화재 예방을 위한 “#예스맨 챌린지”를 본격적으로 시작한다고 밝혔다.

소방청 국가화재정보시스템에 따르면 2020년부터 지난 2024년까지 최근 5년간 전국 공사장에서 총 2,732건이 발생해 46명이 사망하고 202명이 부상을 입었다. 

화재 원인별로 살펴보면 부주의가 2,049건으로 전체 건수의 75%를 차지했고, 그 중에서도 용접․절단․연마로 인한 화재가 무려 1,300건(63.4%) 발생한 것으로 분석됐다. 

이에 인천서부소방서는 건설현장 관계자들의 안전의식을 높이고 화재예방 실천을 독려하기 위해 “#예스맨 챌린지”를 추진한다. ‘화재 예방은 스스로 맨날하기’의 의미를 담고있는 이번 챌린지는 관내 연면적 5,000㎡ 이상의 대형 공사장 13개소를 대상으로 3월부터 5월까지 3개월간 진행한다.

특히, 소방서장을 시작으로 각 공사장 건축소장 등 관계인들이 릴레이 형식으로 참여해 화재 예방 실천 의지를 다지는 것이 핵심이다. 

공사장 관계들은 화재 예방 홍보 피켓을 활용해 안전의식을 공유하고, 헬멧에 부착된 QR코드 스티커를 통해 화재 예방 정보를 쉽고 빠르게 확인할 수 있도록 할 계획이다. 

아울러, SNS 해시태그(#)를 활용한 온라인 홍보와 언론보도를 강화해 보다 많은 국민이 캠페인에 동참할 수 있도록 유도할 예정이다.

박청순 서장은 “봄철 건조한 날씨로 인해 작은 불씨도 대형 화재로 번질 위험이 크다”며 “이번 챌린지를 통해 공사장 관계자들이 스스로 화재 예방에 앞장서고, 안전문화가 현장에서 뿌리내릴 수 있도록 적극적인 참여를 부탁드린다”고 전했다.

한편, 인천서부소방서는 이번 캠페인을 통해 공사장 화재 예방이라는 공동 목표를 달성하고 건설현장 관계자들의 자발적인 참여를 유도해 작업 전 일일 화재안전 점검을 생활화하는 문화를 확산시킬 계획이라고 밝혔다.
