(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부천시가 지난 17일 국외 교류 도시인 중국 웨이하이시 보건의료 대표단이 부천을 찾아 조용익 부천시장과 경제 및 보건의료 분야 협력 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

부천시에 따르면, 중국 웨이하이시는 대한민국과 가장 가까운 도시로, 2000년 부천시와 우호 관계를 맺은 뒤 경제·문화·청소년 등 다양한 분야에서 활발히 교류해 오고 있다. 

중국 웨이하이시 보건의료 대표단은 순천향대학교 부속 부천병원을 방문해 병원 운영 현황과 외국인 환자를 위한 특화 의료서비스를 살펴봤다. 

이어 건강검진센터와 진단검사의학센터를 둘러보며 첨단 의료기술과 진료 시스템에 대한 설명을 들었다.

또한, 순천향대학교 부속 부천병원의 선진 의료 시스템과 첨단 의료기술에 큰 관심을 보이며, 웨이하이시 시립병원 등과의 협력 강화를 제안했다. 

이에 따라 양 도시 의료기관 간 협력 플랫폼을 구축하고 의료 학술 세미나 개최, 심혈관·내시경·난치병 치료 노하우 공유, 의료인 연수·교육 등을 함께 추진할 것을 제안하기도 했다.

부천시는 첨단 의료기술과 뷰티 산업의 강점을 살려 웨이하이시와의 교류를 강화하고, 상호 발전을 도모할 예정이다. 

조용익 부천시장은 “양 도시 교류 25주년을 맞아 의료·뷰티·관광 등 다양한 분야에서 교류를 확대해 상호 발전에 도움이 되기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 양 도시가 지속적인 협력을 이어가길 바란다”고 말했다.
