부평구에 따르면, 부평문화원 주관으로 마련된 이번 행사에는 주민들이 한 해의 건강과 풍년을 기원하기 위해 마련됐다.

행사는 전통문화를 체험할 수 있도록 연만들기, LED쥐불놀이, 신년윷점보기, 연날리기 대회 등 여러 프로그램이 준비돼 있다.

또, 묵은해의 액운을 날려 보내고 새해의 길운을 맞이하는 22개 동(洞) 풍물단의 액맥이판굿이 펼쳐진다.이어 오후 7시 20분부터는 축제의 하이라이트인 달집태우기 행사가 진행된다.
