(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양소방서가 4일, 겨울철을 맞아 화목보일러에 대한 안전수칙 준수를 당부한다고 밝혔다. 

게양소방서에 따르면, 이번 홍보는 겨울철 화재안전대책의 일환으로 기획됐으며  화목보일러는 나무를 사용하는 연료 특성상 유지비용이 적고 관리가 편리한 장점이 있지만 부주의하게 사용하면 불티가 주변으로 옮겨붙어 화재 사고를 초래할 수 있다.

또 온도 제어 기능이 없고 불을 직접 지피는 방식으로 작동돼 본체에 결함이 생기거나 부주의하게 사용할 경우 화재가 발생할 위험이 크다. 

이에 소방서는 화목보일러 사용 안전수칙으로 사용 전 점검, 가연물과 보일러는 2M 이상 떨어진 장소에 보관, 보일러 근처 소화기구 비치, 재 처리 시 확인 후 안전하게 처리 등을 당부하고 있다.

김희곤 서장은 “따뜻함을 지키기 위해 사용하는 화목보일러가 안전을 위협하는 요소가 되지 않도록 세심한 주의가 필요하다”며 “화목보일러를 사용할 때는 한 번 더 점검하고 소방서에서 안내하는 안전수칙을 꼭 실천해주시길 바란다”고 전했다.
