(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청이 20일, 서울강서 시니어 클럽과 함께 고령층의 안전한 해양사고 예방을 위한 ‘해양안전 문화홍보’에 협력하기로 했다고 혔다. 

중부해경청에 따르면, 최근 3년(’22년~‘24년) 중부해경청 관할 내 연안사고를 분석한 결과 50대 이상이 44%(20대 이하 20%)를 차지하고 있어 고령층의 해양안전  문화 확산이 필요하다는 분석에 따른 것이다.

지난, 13일부터 16일까지 서울강서시니어클럽 사업 참여자 대상으로 갯벌 안전교육, 구명조끼 착용법, 생존수영, 바닷가 차량 추락사고 예방 등의 교육 프로그램을 참여했다.

중부해경청 관계자는 고령층의 해양사고 예방과 홍보를 위해 수도권내 시니어클럽에 지속적으로 확대 될 수 있도록 양 기관이 협력할 것이라고 밝혔다. 

김용진 중부해경청장은 “해양경찰은 기관 간 협력과 다양한 해양 데이터 분석을 통하여 안전한 바다를 만들기 위한 노력을 계속 추진할 것이니, 국민들도 적극적인 참여와 관심을 부탁한다.”고 당부했다.
