(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청연수도서관과 인천시교육청중앙도서관이 3일, 문화체육관광부가 주최하고 (재)한국도서관문화진흥원이 주관하는 ‘2025년 작은도서관 순회사서 지원사업’에 선정되어 작은 도서관 운영 지원에 나선다. 

연수도서관은 1월 중 순회사서 1명을 채용하여 푸른마을함박도서관과 짱뚱이어린이도서관에, 중앙도서관은 구월센트럴자이작은도서관과 청포도도서관에 순회사서를 파견하여 2월부터 11월까지 지원할 예정이다. 

주요 지원사항은 도서 등록, 분류, 대출·반납 시스템 관리 와 도서관 공간 및 자료관리 체계화, 테마별 북큐레이션, 작은도서관 독서동아리 활성화 등이다.

이번 사업으로 사서 인력 부족으로 어려움을 겪는 작은도서관의 운영이 활성화되고, 지역 내 공공도서관과의 협력 기반을 구축할 것으로 기대한다. 

두 도서관 모두 순회사서를 지원하여 작은도서관 운영의 질을 높이고, 지역 주민들에게 더 나은 독서 환경을 제공할 계획이다.

Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Yeonsu Library and Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Central Library were selected for the ‘2025 Small Library Traveling Book Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Library Culture Promotion Agency on the 3rd, and will begin supporting the operation of small libraries.

Yeonsu Library will hire one traveling bookkeeper in January and dispatch a traveling bookkeeper to the Blue Village Hambak Library and Jjangtungi Children’s Library, and the Central Library will dispatch a traveling bookkeeper to the Guwol Central Zai Small Library and Cheongpodo Library to provide support from February to November.

The main support items are book registration, classification, management of the loan/return system, systematization of library space and materials management, theme-based book curation, and activation of small library reading clubs.

This project is expected to revitalize the operation of small libraries suffering from a lack of librarians and establish a foundation for cooperation with public libraries in the region.

Both libraries plan to support traveling books to improve the quality of small library operation and provide a better reading environment for local residents.
