(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양소방서가 지난 9일 부터 11일까지 본서에서 전기차 화재진압장비 기능숙달ㆍ조작훈련을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

게양소방서에 따르면, 이번 훈련은 급증하는 전기차 사용과 함께 발생 빈도가 높아지고 있는 전기차 화재에 보다 신속하고 효과적으로 대응하기 위한 역량 강화 노력의 일환으로 추진됐다.

소방서는 이번 훈련에서 새롭게 도입한 전기차 화재진압장비인 드릴랜스를 활용했다. 

드릴랜스는 화재 진압 과정에서 고온의 배터리 묘듈로 인해 발생하는 화재를 효과적으로 억제하기 위해 개발된 전문 장비로 특수한 드릴 형태의 관통 노즐을 통해 차량 하부 배터리 팩에 직접 접근해서 효율적으로 물을 주입함으로써 화재를 빠르게 진압할 수 있다.

훈련내용으로는 실제 전기차 화재 상황을 가정한 시뮬레이션을 통해 장비 사용법과 배터리 화재 대응 요령을 익히는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

또한, 현장 대원들의 장비 숙련도를 높이기 위해 반복적인 훈련과 기술 공유가 이뤄졌다.

소방서 관계자는 “전기차는 내연기관차와 달리 배터리 화재가 특징적으로 발생하며, 재발화 가능성 때문에 기존 소화 방식으로는 어려움이 있었다”며 “드릴 랜스와 같은 첨단 장비를 활용하면 현장 대원들의 안전성을 높이고, 화재 진압 시간을 대폭 줄일 수 있다”고 전했다.

Incheon Gyeyang Fire Station announced that it conducted electric vehicle fire suppression equipment proficiency and operation training at its headquarters from the 9th to the 11th.
