(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 재단법인 부평장학재단(이사장 조진형)이 지난 11일 부평구청소년수련관에서 ‘제8회 전국 청소년 국악경연대회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

부평장학재단에 따르면, 올해로 8회째를 맞은 이번 대회는 국악 전승과 인재 양성을 목표로 개최됐으며, 초등부.중등부.고등부로 나뉘어서 관악.현악.성악 부문에서 경연을 펼쳤다.

교육부장관상인 영예의 대상은 국립국악고 2학년 이예서양이 차지했고, 입상한 학생들에게는 장학금이 수여됐다.

조진형 이사장은 “부평장학재단은 국악을 계승․발전시키기 위한 기회의 장을 마련하고 국악 분야의 새로운 인재발굴을 위하여 매년 청소년 국악경연대회를 주최하고 있다. 앞으로도 학생들이 선조들의 정신이 깃든 국악의 발전을 위해 자부심을 갖고 활동해주기 바란다.”고 말했다. 

한편, 부평장학재단은 국가와 사회를 위해 봉사할 지역인재 발굴과 육성을 위해 지난 2002년에 설립되었으며, 장학사업 이외에도 ‘전국 청소년 국악경연대회’와 ‘초록굴포 그림그리기대회’ 등 다양한 문화지원 사업을 운영하고 있다.
