(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 1일 인천·서울·경기 3개 지방자치단체가 ‘수도권 교통현안 해결을 위한 공동연구’에 본격 착수했다고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 지난 3월 21일, 경기도청 북부청사에서 개최된 제4차 수도권 자치단체 교통국장 실무협의회에서 대중교통비 지원 등 다양한 수도권 교통 현안 내용을 공유하고, 수도권 3개 시도의 대중교통 서비스 개선과 향상을 위한 상호 협력을 견고하게 다지는 시간을 가졌다.

이번 공동연구는 지난해 11월 개최한 수도권 교통국장 실무협의 시 김준성 인천시 교통국장의 제안으로 공동연구를 진행하기로 합의한 사항이다. 

앞서 3개 시도 담당부서와 각 연구기관이 모여 공동연구 실무회의를 진행했고, 이번 제4차 수도권 교통국장 실무협의회를 통해 공동연구를 본격적으로 착수하게 됐다.

이번 연구는 수도권 교통카드 자료 등을 활용해 공동생활권인 수도권 주민들의 대중교통 이용 행태를 종합적으로 분석하고 보편적 교통복지 제공을 위한 지속가능한 정책제언을 주요 내용으로, 오는 10월 3개 지자체 연구기관이 공동 보고서를 내는 방식으로 진행할 계획이다.
