(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 6일, 2026년을 ‘기초학력보장 점▸선▸면 책임교육의 해’로 정하고, 현장 교원의 전문성에 기반해 인천 학생의 기초학력보장을 강화하겠다고 밝혔다. 

인천시교육청에 따르면, 올해부터 ‘기초학력전담교사제’를 새롭게 도입한다. 

기초학력전담교사는 담임교사와 협력하여 학생의 기초학력 수준을 심층 진단하고 정규 수업 중에 기초학력 교실에서 맞춤지도를 진행하며, 일정 수준에 도달한 학생이 원 학급으로 복귀한 이후에는 담임교사와 지속적으로 지도 방법을 공유해 학생의 성장을 돕는다. 

학생의 성장과 더불어 담임교사에게 기초학력 전문성을 지원함으로써 책임교육을 이끌게 되는 것이다.

기초학력전담교사라는 ‘점’이 담임교사와 ‘선’으로 연결되어 기초학력 책임교육 안착‘면’이라는 성과를 거둘 수 있도록 지원한다.

또한, 시교육청은 기초학력전문가 과정을 이수한 교원을 중심으로 ‘방학 중 대면학습캠프’를 신규 운영한다. 

일반학교형, 원도심형, 농어촌 소규모학교형 등 유형별 운영하며 초등학생을 대상으로 여름․겨울방학 중 2~3주간 집중학습을 지원할 예정이다.

아울러, 현장 교사의 기초학력 전문성 강화를 위해 초․중․고 교사를 대상으로 ‘교실안 기초학력지원 연수’를 새롭게 운영해 교사의 실질적 수업 역량을 높일 계획이다.

도성훈 인천광역시교육감은 “기초학력은 학생의 학습권이자 인간으로서의 존엄과 미래를 위한 최소한의 권리”라며 “인천교육은 올 한 해 새로 신설되는 ‘기초학력전담교사제’나 ‘방학 중 대면학습캠프’가 시발점이 되어 한 명의 아이도 포기하지 않고, 끝까지 책임지는 따뜻한 책임교육을 실현하겠다”고 밝혔다.
