존경하는 부평구민 여러분! 

희망찬 병오년(丙午年) 새해가 밝았습니다.

뜨거운 기운과 활력을 상징하는 붉은 말의 해를 맞아, 여러분의 가정마다 건강과 행복이 가득하길 진심으로 기원합니다.

매년 한 해가 저물 때면 그 해를 상징하는 사자성어가 발표됩니다. 

2025년을 대표하는 사자성어는‘변동불거(變動不居)’였습니다.

이는 세상이 잠시도 머물지 않고 끊임없이 변화하고 있음을 뜻하는 말입니다.

2026년을 맞이한 지금, 우리 현실은 어느 때보다 빠르게 변화하고 있습니다. 

변화는 더 이상 예외적인 상황이 아니라 일상이 되었으며, 세상은 쉼 없이 앞으로 나아가고 있습니다. 

이러한 변화의 흐름 속에서 무엇보다 중요한 것은 흔들리지 않는 원칙을 지키는 일이며, 동시에 변화에 능동적으로 대응해 나가는 지혜일 것입니다.

지난 한 해, 계속된 경기 침체와 어려운 여건 속에서도 담대히 일상을 지켜내시며 구정 운영에 변함없는 성원을 보내주신 구민 여러분께 깊이 감사드립니다.

여러분의 응원과 참여가 우리 부평을 더 큰 미래로 이끄는  가장 든든한 힘이었습니다.

더 큰 부평을 완성하고 수도권의 중심도시로 도약하고자 힘차게 출발한 민선 8기가 어느덧 마무리 단계에 접어들었습니다.

그동안 저와 공직자 모두는 구민 여러분과의 약속을 충실히 이행하기 위해 모든 역량을 집중해 왔습니다. 

2018년부터 추진해 온 굴포천 생태하천 복원사업이 마침내 완공을 하였습니다.

이와 연계한 굴포 하늘길과 은하수 길도 완성되어 부평 중심가는 자연과 사람이 어우러진 친환경 공간으로 새롭게 거듭났습니다.

또한, 오랜 숙원사업이던 제1113공병단 부지 개발은 실무협의회를 거치며 본격 추진 단계에 접어 들었고, 캠프마켓은 전 구역이 반환된 이후, 개방 공간을 확대하여 구민의 품으로 한 걸음 더 가까이 다가가고 있습니다.

오랜 기간 방치되어 주민 불편과 도시 단절의 원인이 되었던 부개동 군용 철로 주변 환경을 정비하여 산책로와 쉼터가 어우러진 철길정원을 조성하여 주민들께 돌려드렸습니다.

주민 이동 편의와 교통약자 접근성 강화를 위해 백운역 2번 출구에 에스컬레이터 설치 사업을 완료하고 생활 속 작은 불편을 해소하여 구민 모두가 안전하고 편리하게 역사를 이용 할 수 있는 환경을 마련하였습니다.

인천나비공원에는 어린이 체험형 모험숲을 조성하였습니다. 자연 속에서 자유롭게 뛰어놀며 건강하게 성장할 수 있는 환경을 제공하여 아동친화도시를 실현하고 있습니다.

대규모 아파트가 입주한 서부권역에는 청소년복합문화센터를 개관하여 청소년의 문화·휴식·상담을 위한 복합공간으로 운영하고 있습니다.

구민의 건강한 삶을 위한 삼산건강생활지원센터가 문을 열었고, 부평국민체육센터 리모델링도 마무리되었습니다.

지난 3월에는 삼산1동, 12월에는 부평5동 행정복지센터가 공사를 마치고 행정·복지·소통 기능을 아우르는 쾌적한 공간에서 지역 주민들께 다양한 행정서비스를 제공하고 있습니다.

이와 더불어 세모공원, 신트리공원 등에 주요 시설을 개선하여 생태놀이터를 조성하였고, 후정공원 외 4개소의 도심 속 안전한 생활권 어린이물놀이장을 운영하고 있습니다.

관내 곳곳에는 어르신을 위한 시니어파크와 맨발걷기 길을 조성하여 구민들이 건강을 증진하고 문화를 향유할 수 있는 공간을 확충하였습니다.

주차난 해소를 위해 부평3동 청사부지 신규 주차장을 조성하는 한편, 기존 주차장 공간을 효율적으로 개선하고 부설주차장 개방 사업을 추진하여 부족한 주차공간을 지속적으로 확충해 나가고 있습니다.

아울러 주민들이 폭염과 한파 시 이용 할 수 있는 안심숙소 6개소도 운영 중에 있습니다.

관내 곳곳에 2천5백여 대의 CCTV를 설치하여 범죄를 사전에 예방하고, 스마트빌리지 공모사업을 통해 스마트안전교차로, 자동제설장치를 설치하는 등 구민이 체감할 수 있는 안전하고 쾌적한 생활환경을 조성하였습니다.  

한편, 상권르네상스 공모사업은 80억 원의 사업비로 문화와 소비가 어우러지는 부평만의 특화상권을 조성하고 있으며, 인천 최초로 지정된 법정문화도시 사업은 150억 원의 규모로  추진되어 구민이 직접 참여하고 즐길 수 있는 다양한 문화공간과 프로그램을 제공하고 있습니다.

또한, 중앙부처, 인천시와의 긴밀한 협의를 통해 특별교부세와 특별조정교부금으로 165억원을 교부받아 우리구의 주요 역점사업에 투자하였습니다.

그동안 쏟은 노력은 다양한 분야에서 성과를 인정받았습니다.

성평등가족부 주관‘2025 여성친화도시 조성’우수 지자체로 선정되어 대통령 상의 영예를 안았고, 중소벤처기업부 주관으로 전통시장 및 상점가 활성화에서도 국무총리상을 수상하였으며, 행정안전부가 주관한 일자리사업평가에서 우수한 실적으로 장관상을 수상하였습니다.

인천시가 실시한 재난관리 집중안전점검 평가에서 최우수 기관으로 선정되는 성과를 거두었습니다.

이와 함께 전국 지자체 가운데 나눔 문화 확산의 모범 사례로 인정받아 ‘사랑의열매 대상’을 수상하여 따뜻한 공동체를 만들어 온 성과도 높이 평가받았습니다.

아울러 전국 지방자치단체에서 유일하게 5년 연속 적극행정 우수기관으로 선정되었고, 한국매니페스토실천본부가 전국 기초단체장을 대상으로 하는 공약 이행 평가에서 인천에서 유일하게 3년 연속 최고 등급을 받기도 했습니다.

이 외에도 행정의 각 분야에서 30여 건의 표창을 수상했습니다.

이 모든 성과는 지역 발전에 적극적으로 동참해 주신 구민 여러분과 한마음으로 최선을 다해 준 공직자 덕분으로 다시 한번 깊이 감사드립니다.

존경하는 구민 여러분, 

2026년은 우리 부평이 재도약하는 중대한 전환점이 될 것입니다.

민선 7기에 이어 지난 3년 반 동안 착실히 준비해 온 부평의 새로운 미래가 가시화되고 있습니다.

새롭게 되살아난 물길은 서로를 이어주고 사회적 약자 및 취약계층을 위한 맞춤형 통합돌봄서비스 강화, 원도심 활성화를 통해 살고 싶은 도시를 만들어 수도권의 중심도시로 도약하겠습니다.

먼저, 누구도 소외되지 않는 사회안전망을 구축하겠습니다.

재정 여건이 어려울수록 더 큰 어려움을 겪는 분들을 보호하겠습니다.

3월부터 시행되는 통합돌봄 지원과 연계하여 사회적 약자와 취약계층을 위한 맞춤형 통합서비스를 강화하고, 부평형 의료·요양 지원 사업을 실시하여 돌봄이 필요한 중장년층과 가족을 돌보는 청년에게 일상 돌봄서비스를 제공 할 수 있도록 인적, 재정적 지원체계를 마련하였습니다.

아동의 권리가 일상에서 존중받는 아동친화도시 도약은 올해도 계속됩니다. 

다함께돌봄센터를 추가로 확충하고 요보호아동 보호체계를 강화하여 안전·돌봄·참여가 균형 잡힌 아이 키우기 좋은 부평을 만들어 가겠습니다.

더불어 자립준비 청년의 홀로서기에도 힘을 보태고자 합니다. 

보호 종료 후 사회에 적응하고 있는 자립준비 청년의 실태를 조사하고, 취업에 필요한 자격증 취득을 위한 수강료를 지원하여 자립 역량을 키우겠습니다.

아울러 나라를 위해 헌신하신 분들에 대한 예우도 한층 더 강화하겠습니다. 

새해에는 참전유공자 명예수당과 보훈예우수당을 증액하여, 국가를 위해 희생하신 분들에 대한 존경과 감사의 마음이 일상 속에서 실질적인 지원으로 이어질 수 있도록 하겠습니다.

부평은 다문화 가구 수가 전년 대비 꾸준히 증가하고 있습니다. 

다문화 가족이 한국 사회에 안정적으로 정착하고 사회·경제적으로 자립할 수 있도록 다문화 인식 개선 교육을 확대하고, 다양성을 존중하는 부평 다함께 어울림축제를 개최하여 지역주민과의 소통과 화합의 장을 만들어 가겠습니다.

매년 증가하는 노인인구에 대응하기 위해 어르신 일자리 지원사업에 308억 원의 예산을 확보하고, 전년 대비 606개가 늘어난 총 7,162개의 일자리를 마련하여 어르신들의 건강하고 활기찬 노후 생활을 차질 없이 지원하겠습니다.

또한 AI 기술을 활용한 안심폰 지원과 안전 모니터링을 통하여 취약계층 어르신 맞춤형 돌봄서비스를 제공하겠습니다.

둘째, 현장 중심의 맞춤형 지원으로 지역경제의 지속가능한 성장을 이끌겠습니다.

중소기업과 소상공인의 경쟁력 강화를 위한 현장 지원을 강화하고, 지역 경제의 전반에 활력을 불어넣겠습니다.

굴포천 생태하천 복원사업 완공 이후 원도심 상권 방문객 유입이 기대되는 만큼, 주변 상권과 연계한 활성화 프로그램을 체계적으로 기획하고 추진하겠습니다.

일신시장 고객지원센터 건립사업을 차질 없이 추진하고,  시설현대화사업, 주차환경 개선, 특성화시장 육성사업 등을 통해 안전하고 활기찬 전통시장 및 상점가를 조성해 나가겠습니다.

착한가격업소 지원사업을 확대하여 맞춤형 인센티브 지원을 통해 소상공인 경쟁력 강화에도 힘쓰겠습니다.

부평e음과 학생증을 연계한 특화카드 발급 지원 학교를 확대하여, 청소년의 지역 내 소비를 촉진하고, 건전한 소비 문화를 확산하겠습니다. 

중소기업의 지속성장 기반을 강화하고 국내·외 판로개척의 폭을 넓히기 위해 해외 수출통상촉진단 파견, 해외박람회 및 국내 전시회 참가 기업에 대해 적극 지원하겠습니다.

아울러, 경제단체 교류 활동 공간으로 부평 이노카페를 지속적으로 운영하겠습니다.

부평 르네상스 사업은 5년 차 마지막 해에 접어듭니다. 

그동안 문화와 소비가 어우러지는 부평만의 특화상권 조성을 위해 다양한 사업을 추진해 왔습니다.

청춘로드 활성화 등 5개 분야 23개 사업을 추진하여 지속가능한 상권 활성화 기반을 공고히 하고, 부평만의 특화상권이 조성되도록 상인 여러분과 최선의 노력을 다하겠습니다.

우리 구는 지역과 세대의 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 일자리 창출에 힘써 왔습니다. 

올해는 사회공헌 일자리 협력사업과 이동노동자 권익보호 지원사업을 새롭게 도입하고 상생일자리 지원 사업 공모를 통해 구민에게 안정적인 일자리 기회를 제공하고 지역에는 지속 가능한 성장 기반을 마련하겠습니다.

셋째, 안전하고 깨끗한 도시 환경을 조성하겠습니다.

각종 재난·사고 발생 시 신속한 상황전파로 현장 대응력을 높일 수 있도록 재난안전 상황실을 24시간 상시 운영하고, 안전사고 위험이 있는 건축물에 대하여 전문가 자문과 적극적인 응급조치로 사고를 예방하겠습니다.

범죄 취약지역을 중심으로 방범용 CCTV 110대를 추가 설치하고, GIS 기반 CCTV 스마트 검색 서비스와 스마트 상황전파 시스템을 도입하여 관내 사건·사고 발생 시 신속하고 체계적으로 대응하여 더욱 안전한 도시를 만들겠습니다.

주민이 안전하고 안심할 수 있는 생활환경을 조성하기 위한 안심마을 조성이 부평1동 외 5개소가 준공되었고 내년에는 일신동 한 개소를 더 추가하여 범죄와 사고로부터 주민의 일상 안전을 확보하도록 하겠습니다.

최근 국지성 집중호우 등 예측이 어려운 기후변화로 인한 피해를 예방하기 위해 관내 지방하천에 하천 진입로 자동차단시설을 설치하고, 삼산유수지에 재해예방 시설을 구축하여 재난 상황 발생 시 신속하게 대응해 나가겠습니다.

유기견 발생을 방지하기 위해 반려견의 몸에 마이크로칩을 삽입하는 내장형 동물등록 시 비용 지원을 지속하고, 증가하는 대형 유기견의 복지수준을 개선하여 사람과 동물이 함께 살아가는 따뜻한 환경을 조성하겠습니다.

넷째, 쾌적한 도시 인프라와 녹지공간을 조성하겠습니다.

발전소 주변지역 개발과 주민 복리 증진을 위해 국비 11억 6천 만원을 확보하여 특별회계를 구성하였습니다.

혁신센터 내 푸드플랫폼 조성사업, 부평구 청소년수련관과 청소년성문화센터의 노후된 시설 개선 사업 및 공공건물태양광 발전 수리 등 총 8개 사업을 차질 없이 추진하겠습니다.

국토교통부 공모사업에 선정된 부개·일신지구 뉴빌리지 사업에 총 140억 원의 예산을 투입하여 노후 저층 주거지역의 편의 시설과 기반 시설을 확충하겠습니다. 

이를 통해 도시 공간을 새롭게 재생하여 도시의 활력을 되찾고 지역 간 균형 발전을 도모하겠습니다.

아울러 부개1동 노후 주거취약지역에 행복마을 가꿈사업을 추진하여 주차 문제를 해소하고 생활기반 시설을 확충하여 지속 가능한 주거재생 마을을 조성하겠습니다.

굴포천 생태하천 복원사업이 완료됨에 따라 올해는 굴포천 복원 2단계 사업의 기본구상 용역을 실시하여 단절되었던 도시 공간을 잇고, 환경과 문화, 일상이 어우러지는 부평의 새로운 중심축을 위해 노력하겠습니다.

관내 굴포천·청천천·갈산천 등의 하천 야간경관을 개선하여 구민들의 야간 보행환경을 안전하고 쾌적하게 만들어 도시 이미지를 밝고 세련되게 변화시켜 걷고 싶은 부평을 만들어 가겠습니다.

동암역 북광장 일대의 환경 문제로 인한 주민 불편을 해소하기 위해 시설을 재정비하고 역전광장의 기능을 강화하여 쾌적하고 안전한 도시 공간을 조성하도록 하겠습니다.

부평구 유일한 익스트림 스포츠를 즐길 수 있는 삼산동 분수공원의 노후된 체육시설을 정비하여, 아동과 청소년이 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 체육 활동 공간으로 새롭게 조성하고, 구립 삼산도서관의 노후 시설을 개선하여, 구민이 누구나 쾌적하게 이용할 수 있도록 하겠습니다.

혁신센터 지하에 300면 규모의 공영주차장 건립을 차질 없이 추진하고, 부평 견인차 보관소의 시설 구조를 변경하여 기존 공영주차장의 주차면수를 추가로 확보함으로써, 주차난 해소에 적극 노력하겠습니다. 

다섯째, 일상에 여유를 더하는 문화도시를 만들겠습니다.

법정문화도시 조성사업이 종료됨에 따라 2026년에는 유사·중복 사업을 재구조화하여 프로그램의 질적 수준을 향상시키겠습니다.

문화도시 사업의 거점 공간인‘음악문화공간 지음’을 조성하여 다양한 프로그램 운영을 통해 그동안 추진해 온 문화도시 관련 사업 자료를 체계적으로 구축하고, 구민과 함께하는 열린 커뮤니티 공간으로 활용하겠습니다.

부평구는 그동안 부평별곳, 문화공간 시소, 음악마루 등 일상 속에서 문화를 누릴 수 있는 문화 거점 공간을 지속적으로 조성해 왔습니다.

아울러 부평관광호텔 내 기부채납 공간을 전시실과 소통 공간으로 조성하여 구민 누구나 일상 속에서 문화와 소통을 함께 누릴 수 있는 복합문화 공간으로 만들겠습니다.

앞으로도 생애주기별·인접지역 간 교류를 통해 다양한 계층이 창의적 문화활동을 펼칠 수 있는 문화생태계를 꾸준히 확장해 나가고, 부평구의 문화도시 조성 사업이 지속가능성을 확보할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠습니다.

인천의 대표적인 지역축제이자 문화관광축제인 부평풍물대축제가 올해로 30회를 맞이합니다. 

예비 글로벌 축제 육성 지원 공모를 통해 추가 예산을 확보하여 축제 품격을 한층 높이도록 하겠습니다.

또한 인천관광공사와 협업하여 해외 관광객이 축제를 관람할 수 있도록 추진하고, 30주년 특별 기념행사와 백서 발간을 통해 부평의 문화적 위상을 더욱 강화하겠습니다.

2026년은 민선 7기와 민선 8기 통해 준비하고 추진해 온 주요 사업들이 결실을 맺는 해로, 더 큰 부평의 구체적인 변화가 구민 여러분의 일상 속에서 체감되는 시기가 될 것입니다.

Furthermore, it was recognized as an exemplary example of spreading a culture of sharing among local governments nationwide and received the "Fruit of Love Award," highly acclaimed for its efforts in creating a warm community.

Furthermore, it was the only local government in Korea to be selected as an excellent organization for proactive administration for five consecutive years, and was the only Incheon city to receive the highest rating for three consecutive years in the Korea Manifesto Implementation Headquarters' nationwide pledge fulfillment evaluation of local government heads.

In addition, it received over 30 commendations in various administrative fields.

All of these achievements are thanks to the residents who actively participated in local development and the public officials who worked together with a unified heart. I once again express my deepest gratitude.

2026 will be a significant turning point for Bupyeong, as it takes another leap forward.

Following the 7th elected government, Bupyeong's new future, which we have diligently prepared for over the past three and a half years, is now becoming visible.

By connecting the newly revitalized waterways, we will strengthen customized integrated care services for the socially disadvantaged and vulnerable, and revitalize the downtown area. By creating a city where people want to live, we will leap forward as a central city in the metropolitan area.

First, we will establish a social safety net that leaves no one behind.

We will protect those who face greater hardship when financial conditions are challenging.

In conjunction with the integrated care support program that will be implemented in March, we will strengthen customized integrated services for the socially disadvantaged and vulnerable. We will also implement the Bupyeong-style medical and nursing care support project, establishing a human and financial support system to provide daily care services to middle-aged and older adults in need of care and young people caring for their families.

This year, we will continue our efforts to become a child-friendly city where children's rights are respected in everyday life.

We will further expand the All Together Care Center and provide support for children in need of protection. We will strengthen the protection system to create a Bupyeong that is a good place to raise children, with a balanced approach to safety, care, and participation.

Furthermore, we will support young people preparing for independence.

We will conduct a survey to assess the current situation of young people adapting to society after leaving protection and provide tuition support for obtaining qualifications necessary for employment, thereby fostering their self-reliance.

Furthermore, we will further strengthen our respect for those who have dedicated themselves to our country.

In the new year, we will increase the Honorary Allowance for Veterans and the Veterans Benefit Allowance, ensuring that our respect and gratitude for those who have sacrificed for our country translates into practical support in everyday life.

The number of multicultural households in Bupyeong has steadily increased compared to the previous year.

To ensure that multicultural families can settle stably into Korean society and achieve social and economic independence, we will expand education to raise awareness of multiculturalism. We will also host the Bupyeong Together Festival, which celebrates diversity and fosters communication and harmony with local residents.

To address the growing elderly population, we will provide senior jobs. We will secure a budget of KRW 30.8 billion for support projects and create a total of 7,162 jobs, an increase of 606 from the previous year, to ensure a healthy and vibrant retirement for seniors.

Furthermore, we will provide customized care services for vulnerable seniors through AI-powered phone support and safety monitoring.

Second, we will drive sustainable growth in the local economy through field-oriented, customized support.

We will strengthen on-site support to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small businesses, and revitalize the local economy overall.

With the anticipated influx of visitors to the downtown commercial district following the completion of the Gulpocheon Ecological Stream Restoration Project, we will systematically plan and implement revitalization programs linked to surrounding commercial districts.

We will ensure the smooth progress of the Ilshin Market Customer Support Center construction project and foster a safe and vibrant traditional market and shopping district through facility modernization projects, parking improvements, and specialized market development projects.

We will also expand the Fair Price Support Program and provide tailored incentives to strengthen the competitiveness of small businesses.

Bupyeong e-Beverage We will expand the number of schools that support the issuance of specialized cards linked to student IDs, thereby promoting local consumption among youth and fostering a healthy consumer culture.

To strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and broaden their domestic and international market opportunities, we will actively support companies dispatching overseas export promotion teams and participating in overseas and domestic exhibitions.

Furthermore, we will continue to operate the Bupyeong InnoCafé as a space for economic exchange activities.

The Bupyeong Renaissance Project is entering its final year of its fifth year.

We have implemented various projects to foster a uniquely Bupyeong commercial district where culture and consumption intersect.

By implementing 23 projects in five areas, including the revitalization of the Youth Road, we will solidify the foundation for sustainable commercial revitalization and work with merchants to foster the development of a uniquely Bupyeong commercial district.

Our district has been committed to creating customized jobs that reflect the characteristics of the region and generations.

This year, we will introduce new social contribution job cooperation projects and support programs for the protection of migrant workers' rights. We will also hold a public contest for the Mutual Growth Job Support Project to provide stable job opportunities for residents and lay the foundation for sustainable growth in the region.

Third, we will create a safe and clean urban environment.

We will operate a disaster safety situation room 24 hours a day to enhance on-site response capabilities through rapid situational reporting in the event of disasters and accidents. We will also prevent accidents by providing expert advice and proactive emergency measures for buildings at risk of safety accidents.

We will install 110 additional CCTV cameras, focusing on crime-prone areas, and introduce a GIS-based CCTV smart search service and a smart situational reporting system to enable a rapid and systematic response to incidents and accidents within the district, creating a safer city.

Five Safe Villages, including Bupyeong 1-dong, have been completed to create a safe and secure living environment for residents. Next year, we will add one more in Ilshin-dong, ensuring residents' daily safety from crime and accidents.

To prevent damage from unpredictable climate change, such as recent localized torrential downpours, we will install automatic river access barriers on local rivers within the jurisdiction and establish disaster prevention facilities at the Samsan Reservoir to ensure a rapid response in the event of a disaster.

To prevent the occurrence of abandoned dogs, we will continue to subsidize the cost of microchip registration for companion dogs. We will also improve the welfare of the increasing number of large abandoned dogs, creating a warm environment where people and animals can coexist.

Fourth, we will create pleasant urban infrastructure and green spaces.

To develop areas surrounding power plants and promote resident welfare, we have secured KRW 1.16 billion in national funds and established a special account.

We will proceed smoothly with eight projects, including the creation of a food platform within the Innovation Center, improvements to aging facilities at the Bupyeong-gu Youth Training Center and Youth Sexual Culture Center, and the repair of solar power plants in public buildings.

A total of 14 billion won will be invested in the Bugae and Ilshin District New Village Project, selected through a public offering by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, to expand amenities and infrastructure in aging low-rise residential areas.

Through this, we will revitalize urban spaces, revitalize the city, and promote balanced regional development.

Furthermore, we will implement the Happy Village Dream Project in the aging, underserved residential areas of Bugae 1-dong to address parking issues and expand basic infrastructure, creating a sustainable residential regeneration community.

With the completion of the Gulpocheon Ecological Stream Restoration Project, we will begin a basic planning service for the second phase of the Gulpocheon Restoration Project this year. This will connect disconnected urban spaces and create a new hub for Bupyeong, where the environment, culture, and everyday life coexist.

We will improve the nighttime scenery of rivers such as the Gulpocheon, Cheongcheoncheon, and Galsancheon streams within the district, making nighttime walking safe and pleasant for residents. This will transform the city's image into a bright and sophisticated place that makes Bupyeong a desirable place to walk.

To address the inconveniences facing residents due to environmental issues surrounding the Dongam Station North Plaza area, we will renovate facilities and enhance the function of the station plaza to create a pleasant and safe urban space.

We will renovate the aging sports facilities at Samsan-dong Fountain Park, Bupyeong-gu's only extreme sports facility, to create a safe and enjoyable space for children and teenagers. We will also improve the aging facilities at the Samsan District Library to ensure a pleasant experience for all residents.

We will proactively address parking shortages by proactively pursuing the construction of a 300-space public parking lot in the basement of the Innovation Center and restructuring the Bupyeong Tow Truck Depot to increase parking spaces in the existing public parking lot.

Fifth, we will create a cultural city that adds leisure to everyday life.

With the completion of the Legal Cultural City Development Project, we will restructure similar and overlapping projects in 2026 to improve the quality of programs.

Bupyeong-gu will establish "Music Culture Space Jieum," a hub for the Cultural City Project, to systematically build data on existing Cultural City projects through various programs and utilize it as an open community space for residents.

Bupyeong-gu has consistently created cultural hubs, such as Bupyeong Byeolgot, Cultural Space Seesaw, and Music Maru, where residents can enjoy culture in their daily lives.

Furthermore, we will transform the donation collection space within the Bupyeong Tourist Hotel into an exhibition hall and communication space, creating a multi-cultural space where all residents can enjoy culture and communication in their daily lives.

Going forward, we will continue to expand the cultural ecosystem, fostering creative cultural activities for diverse groups through life cycle and regional exchanges. We will also do our utmost to ensure the sustainability of Bupyeong-gu's Cultural City Development Project.

The Bupyeong Pungmul Festival, Incheon's representative local festival and cultural tourism festival, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year.

We will secure additional funding through a preliminary global festival development support competition to further enhance the festival's prestige.

Furthermore, we will collaborate with the Incheon Tourism Organization to promote the festival to international tourists, and we will further strengthen Bupyeong's cultural status through a special 30th anniversary commemorative event and the publication of a white paper.

Dear 520,000 residents!

2026 will be the year when the major projects prepared and promoted during the 7th and 8th elected terms will bear fruit. This will be a time when even greater, more tangible changes in Bupyeong will be felt in the daily lives of residents.
