(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 2알, 최근 실시한 교육지원청 개편 설문조사에서 시민·학부모·교직원의 74.1%가 개편 필요성에 공감한 것으로 나타남에 따라 개편의 타당성과 설치 기준 마련을 위한 검토에 착수했다고밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 조사는 10월 30일부터 11월 10일까지 학부모, 교직원, 지역 주민 등 1,250명을 대상으로 진행됐다. 

응답 결과, 교육지원청 개편은 ‘지방교육자치에 관한 법률’개정 추진과 인천시 행정체제 변화에 대응하기 위한 주요 과제로 확인됐다. 

특히, 남부교육지원청과 서부교육지원청의 필요성이 높게 나타나, 해당 지역을 중심으로 개편 요구가 증가하고 있는 것으로 분석됐다.

시교육청은 현장 의견을 반영하고 연구용역의 실행 가능성을 높이기 위해 ‘교육지원청 개편 실무추진단’을 구성해 운영 중이다. 

실무추진단은 시교육청과 각 교육지원청 관계자들이 참여해 의견 수렴과 연구 내용 검토를 진행하고 있다.

교육지원청 개편 연구용역은 12월 중순 중간보고회를 통해 연구 성과와 핵심 쟁점을 공유하고, 내년 1월 말 최종보고서를 확정할 예정이다. 

시교육청은 연구 결과를 바탕으로 개편안을 마련한 뒤 내년 ‘교육지원청 개청 추진단’을 구성해 분리·신설 절차를 본격 추진할 계획이다.

인천시교육청 관계자는 “과밀학교 등 지역 현안은 기존 교육지원청 체제만으로는 대응에 한계가 있다”며 “추진단을 운영해 현장 의견을 반영한 개편안을 마련하고 지역 특성에 맞는 교육정책 역량을 확보해 교육 여건 개선에 나설 것”이라고 말했다.
