(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 인천시 문화예술회관이 대공연장 재개관을 기념해 연말 대표 레퍼토리 발레인 유니버설발레단의 고전발레 명작 ‘호두까기 인형’을 선보인다. 

이번 공연은 리모델링을 마친 인천문화예술회관 대공연장의 재개관을 기념하는 의미 있는 무대로 마련된다. 

국내 정상급 클래식 발레단인 유니버설발레단을 초청하여 시민들과 함께 재개관을 축하하고, 온 가족이 공연장에서 함께 연말의 낭만을 즐길 수 있는 특별한 시간을 선사하고자 한다. 

크리스마스를 상징하는 고전 발레의 걸작

크리스마스 시즌이면 가장 먼저 떠오르는 작품으로 손꼽히는 ‘호두까기 인형’은 차이콥스키와 프티파-이바노프 콤비가 완성한 걸작으로, ‘백조의 호수’, ‘잠자는 숲속의 미녀’와 함께 고전발레 3대 명작으로 불린다. 

1892년 러시아 상트페테르부르크 마린스키 극장에서 초연된 이후 130여 년 동안 전 세계 관객들에게 크리스마스를 상징하는 무대로 깊은 사랑을 받아왔다.

클라라와 호두까기 왕자의 그랑 파드되(2인무), 러시아·스페인·아라비아·중국 등 각국의 전통춤을 차용한 캐릭터 댄스까지 더해져 남녀노소 누구나 즐길 수 있는 발레 입문작으로 손꼽힌다.

환상적 무대와 발레 테크닉의 정점을 모두 즐기는 ‘호두까기 인형’

1막은 크리스마스의 환상과 동심을 서정적이면서도 역동적으로 그려내며 관객을 작품 속으로 끌어들인다. 

특히 1막 대미의 ‘눈송이 왈츠’는 20여 명의 눈송이 요정들이 점프와 대형 변화를 자유롭게 넘나들며 펼쳐내는 대규모 군무가 압권이다. 

흩날리는 눈발, 차이콥스키 특유의 서정적인 멜로디, 그리고 합창이 어우러져 관객을 겨울의 환상적인 풍경 속으로 안내한다. 

이어지는 2막은 각종 발레 테크닉이 집중적으로 배치돼 발레의 정수를 한 자리에서 감상할 수 있는 장으로 구성된다. 

‘로즈 왈츠’에서는 꽃봉오리가 피어나듯 화려하게 펼쳐지는 남녀 군무의 앙상블이 큰 감동을 선사하며, 작품의 마지막을 장식하는 그랑 파드되에서는 주역 무용수들의 기량과 섬세한 감정 표현이 무대를 물들인다. 

과자의 나라를 배경으로 펼쳐지는 캐릭터 댄스 디베르티스망은 스페인(초콜릿), 아라비아(커피콩), 중국(차), 러시아(막대사탕) 등 다채로운 색채를 더하며 작품 전체의 즐거움과 생동감을 배가시킨다.

홍순미 시 문화예술회관장은 “12월 대표 레퍼토리로 사랑받아 온 ‘호두까기 인형’을 통해 연말의 따뜻함과 클래식 발레의 진수를 시민들과 함께하고자 한다”며 “재개관한 대공연장에서 더욱 쾌적하게 즐길 수 있는 이번 무대를 통해 많은 분들이 예술의 기쁨을 느끼길 바란다”고 말했다.

유니버설발레단의 ‘호두까기 인형’은 오는 12월 12일부터 13일까지 인천문화예술회관 대공연장에서 이틀간 공연된다. 

재개관 기념공연인 만큼 인천 시민이라면 누구나 20% 할인 혜택을 받을 수 있으며, 4세 이상부터 관람 가능하다.
