(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 29일 경인교육대학교에서 학생, 학부모, 교직원, 연구진 등 600여 명이 참여한‘2025 읽걷쓰 학술대회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 학술대회는 ‘AI 주도 시대, 읽걷쓰가 답이다!’를 주제로 인공지능 시대에 필요한 학습역량과 읽걷쓰 교육 모델의 현장 적용 사례를 공유했다.

1부 ‘세상이 묻고, 읽걷쓰가 답한다’에서는 도성훈 교육감의 기조 강연이 진행됐다.

도 교육감은 “인공지능 시대에도 인간의 창의성·비판적 사고·감성과 같은 고유 역량은 대체될 수 없다”며 “읽걷쓰 교육은 학생이 스스로 생각하고 문제를 발견·해결하는 힘을 기르는 핵심 교육”이라고 강조했다. 

이어 인천시교육청이 4P 기반 학습역량(관찰–질문–탐구–행동)에 따라 개발한 읽걷쓰 프로그램의 중요성을 설명했다.

기조 강연 후에는 폴 김 교수를 좌장으로 도성훈 교육감, 김일환 제주대 총장, 이찬규 중앙대 부총장, 김병찬 경희대 교수, 조병영 한양대 교수, 박원유 구글코리아 교육사업본부장이 참여한 패널 토론이 이어졌다. 

패널들은 인공지능 시대 교육 방향과 읽걷쓰 교육의 가치에 대해 논의했다.

사례 발표에서는 학생·학부모·교사가 가정‧학교‧지역사회에서 실천한 읽걷쓰 활동을 공유하며 교육과 삶의 연결성을 확인했다.

2부 세션에서는 ‘읽걷쓰, 가능성을 그리는 상상, 변화를 만드는 실천’을 주제로 23개 분과가 연구 결과와 다양한 현장 사례를 발표했다. 

참가자들은 사회적 문제를 읽고 토론하며 해결 방안을 실천한 경험을 공유했다.

한편, 유아교육진흥원은 이번 학술대회에서 유아 읽걷쓰 교육연구회와 유아 생태전환교육연구회의 1년간 연구 성과를 발표했다. 

유아교육 분야는 별도 세션에서 읽걷쓰 기반 AI 미래교육, 생태전환교육, 놀이 중심 교육의 실행 가능성을 제시하며, 읽걷쓰 실천이 유아교육에서부터 시작될 수 있음을 보여주었다.

인천시교육청은 앞으로도 읽걷쓰 교육의 질적 성장을 지원하고, AI 시대에 맞춘 교육 혁신을 지속 추진할 계획이다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 지난 11월 28일부터 29일까지 학생·교사·시민이 참여한 ‘2025 인천AI·SW 미래채움 교육페스티벌’을 운영했다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 개막식에서 도성훈 교육감은 “AI 시대에도 읽고 쓰고 생각하는 인문학적 소양이 중심이 되는 AI교육이 필요하다”고 강조했다.

KAIST 김대식 교수는 ‘AGI 시대 인류와 미래’를 주제로 강연해 학생, 교사, 학부모 등 다양한 참여자의 관심을 끌었다. 김 교수는 AI 활용 역량을 자전거 배우기에 비유하며 “많은 시도가 결국 안전하고 창의적인 AI 활용 능력으로 이어진다”고 설명했다.

또한, 인천시교육청이 지난 11월 29일 서부결대로진로센터에서 청년진로멘토단을 대상으로 ‘읽걷쓰 탐구 세미나’를 운영했다고 밝혔다.

인천교육청에 따르면, 청년진로멘토단은 인천 지역 고등학교를 졸업한 대학생과 사회초년생 162명으로 구성해 중·고등학생을 대상으로 전공 계열별 도서를 활용한 토의·멘토링 프로그램 ‘진로동행독서’를 운영하고 있다. 

이번 세미나는 청년멘토들이 읽걷쓰 교육 철학을 이해하고 멘토링 활동에 적용할 방안을 모색하기 위해 진행됐으며, 읽걷쓰 기초 연구 자료를 기반으로 핵심 개념을 정리하고, 책에서 인상 깊었던 문장과 그 이유를 경험과 연결해 공유했다. 

참가자들은 읽걷쓰 개념과 4P(현상–문제–과업–실천)를 정리한 뒤, 멘토링 과정에서 읽걷쓰를 적용하는 방법과 걷기 기반 활동 운영 방안 등을 모둠별로 논의하고 발표했다.

인천시교육청 관계자는 “청년진로멘토단이 읽걷쓰의 핵심 가치를 이해하고 이를 활동과 자연스럽게 연계하도록 돕는 자리였다”며 “멘토들의 전문성을 강화해 인천 진로교육의 든든한 동반자로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
