(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 26일, 구직 단념 청년들의 재도약을 돕는 ‘2025 청년 도전 지원사업’을 성황리에 종료했다고 밝혔다.

남동구에 따르면, ‘청년 도전 지원사업’은 최근 사회적 문제로 불거진 ‘쉬었음’ 청년 등 장기간 취업 실패, 대인관계 기피, 경력 단절, 자신감 부족 등으로 구직의욕을 잃은 청년들에게 맞춤형 프로그램을 제공해 노동시장 참여와 취업을 돕는 사업이다.

남동구는 이번 사업을 통해 60명의 구직 단념 청년을 발굴, 최대 25주간 200시간의 맞춤형 프로그램을 제공한 결과 전체의 97%인 58명의 수료생을 배출하며 높은 이수율을 달성했다.

특히, 수료생 중 10명이 취업과 창업에 성공했고, 8명은 국민취업지원제도 등에 참여하는 성과를 거뒀다. 

그간 남동구는 남동국가산업단지에 있는 기업을 직접 탐방하는 프로그램을 마련하고, 현직자와의 만남을 통해 다양한 직무와 업종에 대한 이해를 도왔다.

또한, 인천고용센터의 ‘with대학 연계프로그램’에 적극 참여해 청년 도전 지원사업과 지역을 연계하는 역할을 톡톡히 해냈다.

남동구는 앞으로도 참여자들의 향후 취업 성공을 위해 국민취업지원제도 연계, 고용24 홈페이지를 통한 구직 등록, 고용서비스 안내 등 사후관리를 지원할 예정이다.

박종효 남동구청장은 “최근 사회적으로 고립된 청년들이 많아져서 큰 사회문제로 대두되고 있는 만큼 미래 사회의 주인공인 청년이 소외되지 않고 성공적으로 노동시장에 참여할 수 있도록 세심한 노력을 기울이겠다”고 밝혔다.
