(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 로봇 기반 스마트 수면(水面) 관리 솔루션 기업인 주식회사 쉐코가 사우디아라비아의 주요 정유사에 해수역 오염 대응 로봇인 ‘Sheco Ark-M’ 3기를 납품하는 수출 계약을 성공적으로 이행했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 수출은 2025년 5월 28일 수출 신고를 완료했다. 

쉐코(주)는 인천대학교 글로벌정경대학 무역학부가 추진하고 있는 지역특화청년무역전문가 양성사업(GTEP) 18기와 산학협력을 통해 2024년도에 총 2명의 인턴쉽을 진행하며 국내외 전시회에 다수 참여하며 브랜드 인지도를 넓혀왔다. 

그 중에서도 아부다비에서 개최된 중동 최대 에너지 전시회인 ADIPEC 2024에 GTEP 인턴 2명과 함께 참여하며 GTEP 활동의 의의를 실천함과 동시에 중동 시장 개척 노력을 지속해왔다.

이번에 사우디 정유사에 납품된 핵심 제품은 플랫폼형 수상 로봇인‘Sheco Ark-쉐코 아크’의 모듈형 모델인 ‘Sheco Ark-M (기름회수 기능)’ 3기다.

쉐코 아크-M은 임펠러 회전 유입 방식을 사용하여 기존 흡착식 장비(유회수기, 유흡착제)로는 회수하기 어려웠던 경유, 선저폐수, 선박도료 등 액체 및 분진 형태의 수면 부유 오염물 전반에 대한 회수 및 정화가 가능하다는 점이 특징이다. 

2023년 하반기부터 사우디아라비아 정유사 및 해양 관리 기관을 대상으로 혁신 제품 시연을 성공적으로 진행하며 현지 기술력을 검증받았다.

사우디 현지 관계자들은 쉐코 아크-M의 기술 혁신에 대해 높은 만족도를 표하며 도입을 결정했다. 

주요 만족 요인은 고점도부터 저점도까지 모든 유종에 대응 가능한 회수 범용성, 전기 구동 및 흡착제 대체로 탄소 배출을 저감하는 친환경 및 비용 효율성, 그리고 자율주행, AI 등 스마트 기능을 통한 향후 완전 자율 운영 체계로의 융합 가능성 세 가지다.

쉐코는 "미래세대까지 청정한 환경을 공유하자"는 목표 아래, Robotics 및 AI 기술로 기존 중장비/인력 중심의 산업 방식을 혁신하고 있다. 

아시아 및 중동(인도네시아, 싱가폴, 사우디아라비아 등) 시장에도 솔루션이 도입될 수 있도록 적극적으로 네트워크를 확장하고 있으며 추후에는 ‘현장 오염 모니터링 -> 오염물 정화작업 -> 작업 빅데이터 관리’ 시스템을 하나의 통합관제시스템으로 일원화하여 '완전 자율 관리' 체계를 구축할 계획이다.

한편, 쉐코와 협력했던 GTEP(Global Trade Expert Incubation Program)은 산업통상자원부가 주관하고 한국무역협회가 운영하는 사업으로, 지역 대학생을 수출·무역 전문 인재로 양성하고 중소기업의 해외 진출을 지원하는 프로그램이다. 

2024년 초 쉐코(주)와 산학협력을 추진했던 인천대 GTEP 고보민 지도교수는 “인턴쉽 및 국내외 전시회 현장 지원 등을 통해 이 기업과의 산학협력의 결실이 올해 나오게 되어 기쁘고 기업 관계자분들에게 큰 축하를 보낸다.”고 알렸다. 

쉐코의 인턴으로 활동한 학생들의 경우 "전문 용어를 영어로 공부해 잠재 바이어와 직접적인 업무적 소통을 해야한다는 점이 다소 떨렸지만, 실무적인 감각을 기를 수 있는 소중한 기회였다"며 소감을 밝혔다.
