(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 3일, ‘2025~2026 재외동포 인천 방문의 해’를 맞아 국내외 한인 경제인이 대거 참여하는 대규모 국제행사를 연이어 유치해 글로벌 경제도시로의 도약을 본격화한다고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 오는 10월 27일부터 30일까지 송도컨벤시아에서 열리는 ‘제29차 세계한인경제인대회’는 인천시와 재외동포 최대 경제인단체인 (사)세계한인무역협회가 공동 주최하는 한민족 최대 규모의 경제교류 행사다.

이번 대회에는 전 세계 한인 경제인과 국내 중소기업 관계자 등 1,700여 명이 참가할 예정이다. 

기업전시회, 수출상담회, 글로벌 트레이드쇼, 분야별 포럼, 네트워킹, 문화 행사 등 다양한 프로그램으로 구성돼 이번 대회를 통해 약 117억 원의 경제적 파급효과가 기대된다.

이어 내년 4월에는 재외동포청 주최 ‘제24차 세계한인비즈니스대회’가 송도에서 개최될 예정이다. 

3,000여 명의 재외동포 경제인과 국내 기업인이 참석하는 대형 국제행사로, 인천시는 지난 5월 재외동포청으로부터 대회기를 전달받고 본격적인 준비에 돌입했다.

인천시는‘제24차 세계한인비즈니스대회’를 통해 기업전시회, 1:1 비즈니스 미팅, 스타트업 경연대회, 리딩 CEO 및 영비즈니스리더 포럼 등 실질적이고 심도 있는 경제협력 프로그램을 다채롭게 구성했다. 

이를 통해 글로벌 한상 네트워크를 인천으로 집중시키고, 참가기업의 만족도를 극대화하는 한편, 약 177억 원의 생산유발효과도 기대하고 있다.

인천시는 대규모 경제대회 기간 중 수송 및 숙박 지원, 관광 프로그램 운영 등 다양한 편의 제공과 지역 연계 콘텐츠 개발을 통해 행사에 따른 경제적 시너지 효과를 극대화하고 도시 브랜드 가치를 제고할 계획이다.

또한, 인천시가 3일, 2025년 아시아태평양경제협력체(APEC) 인천회의 개막을 3주 앞두고, 성공적인 개최를 위한 준비에 박차를 가하고 있다고 밝혔다.

인천시에 따르면, 오는 7월 26일부터 8월 15일까지 송도컨벤시아와 영종 일원에서는 제3차 고위관리회의(SOM3, Third Senior Officials’ Meeting)를 비롯해 디지털 장관회의, 식량안보 장관회의, 여성 경제 장관회의, 반부패 고위급 대화 등 4개 분야의 장관회의가 열린다.

이어 10월에는 재무 장관회의 및 구조개혁 장관회의도 개최될 예정이다.

이 기간 동안 송도와 영종 지역에서는 200여 개의 분야별 회의가 열릴 예정이며, APEC 회원국 장관급 인사를 포함한 각국 대표단 등 5,000여 명이 인천을 방문할 것으로 예상된다.

인천연구원 조사에 따르면 이번 회의로 인한 지역경제 파급효과는 약 409억 원에 이를 것으로 전망된다. 

이 중 숙박, 문화, 관광 등 지역 내 소비지출은 125억 원, 부가가치 유발 효과는 160억 원이며, 약 410명의 일자리 창출 효과도 기대된다.

인천시는 이번 회의를 계기로 도시환경 개선과 마이스(MICE) 인프라 확충을 통해 도시 브랜드 가치를 한층 높일 계획이다. 

이를 위해 정부 추가경정예산을 통해 국비 12억 원을 확보하고, 송도컨벤시아 내 회의장 시설 정비도 개막 전까지 마무리할 예정이다.

앞서, 인천시는 회의의 성공적 개최를 위해 지난 3월 글로벌도시정무부시장을 단장으로 한 전담 조직(TF)을 구성하고, 중앙부처는 물론 인천소방본부, 군·구 등 유관 기관들과 긴밀한 협력체계를 구축해 왔다.

회의 기간에는 참가자 전용 셔틀버스를 운행해 이동 편의를 높이는 한편, 개항장거리, 송도, 강화·영종 등 인천의 대표 관광지를 연계한 체험형 관광 프로그램도 운영해 참가자 만족도를 높일 계획이다. 

또, 외국어 가능 안내 인력과 자원봉사자를 인천국제공항, 행사장, 숙소 안내데스크, 셔틀버스 등에 배치해 참가자들의 편의를 지원할 예정이며, 자원봉사자는 7월 중 최종 선발된다.

아울러, 인천시는 이번 회의를 기반으로 글로벌 마이스 허브 도시로서의 위상을 공고히 하기 위해 인천 홍보관 조성, 환영 오·만찬, 다양한 부대행사 등 대외협력 프로그램도 준비 중이다.
