(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 계양소방서가 지난 1일 제17대 서장에 송태철 서장이 취임했다고 밝혔다.

계양소방서에 따르면, 송 서장은 1989년 소방에 입문한 이후 인천소방본부 소방행정과장·소방감사담당관, 인천서부소방서장, 검단소방서장 등을 두루 거치며 풍부한 현장 경험과 행정 역량을 겸비한 인물이다. 

2019년에는 탁월한 업무 추진력과 전문성을 인정받아 대통령 표창을 수상한 바 있다.

그는 소방행정과 예방, 대응 등 소방 전 분야에 균형 잡힌 이해와 실무 경험을 바탕으로 조직을 안정적으로 이끌어왔으며, 부드러운 카리스마와 세심한 배려로 직원 간 신뢰를 쌓아온 소통형 리더로 정평이 나 있다.

송 서장은 “시민 중심의 소방서비스를 구현하는 데 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”며 “계양구민의 생명과 재산을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

또한, 계양소방서가 지난 1일 취임 첫 일정으로 여름철 풍수해 대비를 위해  관내 풍수해 피해우려지역을 방문해 관서장 현장예찰을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

계양소방서에 따르면, 이번 예찰은 용종 지하차도 등 침수 취약ㆍ우려지역 3개소에 대해 이뤄졌다. 

집중호우와 태풍 등 자연재난을 대비하고 유사시 체계적이고 선제적으로 대응하는 데 목적이 있다.

주요 내용은 집중호우로 인한 침수ㆍ고립 예상지역 현황 파악, 상습 침수지역 소방차 접근 가능 여부 확인, 인명피해 우려지역 및 침수 취약도로 안전대책 마련, 반지하 밀집지역 차수막 현장 점검 등이다.

송태철 서장은 “다가오는 여름철 태풍과 집중호우에 대비해 안전사고 예방 등 빈틈없는 긴급대응체계를 구축하고 시민의 안전과 재산을 지키기 위한 소방안전대책 수립에 만전을 기하겠다”고 전했다.
