(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 진나 10일, ‘계양가치자원발전소프로젝트’의 일환으로 계양구지역사회보장협의체, 국제로타리3690지구 인천북부로타리클럽, 더케이365치과병원과 ‘행복한 미소를 찾아주는 치과 치료 지원’ 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

계양구에 따르면, ‘계양가치자원발전소프로젝트’는 주민과 민관이 함께 ‘같이(협력/협업)’, ‘가치(의미)’ 있는 보건의료, 주거, 교육, 문화, 환경 등 각종 사회보장 영역의 복지자원을 발굴 및 연계해 주민의 삶의 질 향상을 도모하는 중장기 희망프로젝트이다.

‘치과 치료 지원’ 사업은 구강질환 및 치아결손 등으로 어려움을 겪고 있으나 경제적인 사정으로 적절한 시기에 치료를 받지 못하고 있는 취약계층을 대상으로 하며, 틀니 등 치과 치료 서비스를 지원하는 사업이다. 

이번 협약으로 계양구와 지역사회보장협의체에서는 치과 치료가 필요한 복지 사각지대 가구와 건강위기 대상자를 발굴해 연계하고 지속적인 모니터링을 추진할 계획이다. 

협약기관인 국제로타리3690지구 인천북부로타리클럽은 의료비 지원에 필요한 사업비 32,500달러(약 4,700만 원)를 지원하며, 더케이365치과병원에서는 대상자에 대한 맞춤형 치과 치료 서비스를 제공할 예정이다. 

지원 대상자에게는 1인당 최대 250만 원 이내로 의료비를 지원할 계획이며, 구는 올해 사업비 범위 내에서 대상자를 지속 발굴할 계획이다.  

인천북부로타리클럽 이종선 회장은 “지역사회를 위한 나눔 실천에 앞장설 수 있게 되어 기쁘다.”며 “이번 의료지원을 시작으로, 교육, 문화, 환경 등 사회보장 전 영역으로 확대 지원할 수 있도록 다각도로 노력하겠다.”고 뜻을 전했다.

윤성묵 지역사회보장협의체 민간위원장은 “치과 치료는 삶의 질과 건강에 직결되는 중요한 부분이지만 경제적 부담으로 치료를 받지 못하는 분들이 많다.”며 “도움이 필요한 주민들이 적시에 치과 치료를 받을 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다.”고 말했다. 

윤환 구청장은 “지역 내 다양한 자원이 구민의 건강 증진과 사회안전망 구축에 한마음으로 동참해 주셔서 매우 든든하게 생각한다.”며 “이번 사업이 소외된 이웃들에게 실질적인 도움이 되길 바란다.”고 말했다.
