(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양소방서가 5일, 건설현장의 화재예방을 위해 안전수칙 준수를 당부한다고 밝혔다.

계양소방서에 따르면 건설현장은 용접·용단 작업, 전기 설비, 인화성 물질 취급 등 화재 위험 요인이 다양해 사전 예방 활동이 매우 중요하다. 

특히 작업 특성상 불꽃·열 발생 가능성이 높고, 각종 자재와 장비가 밀집돼 있어 작은 부주의가 대형 화재로 이어질 위험이 크다고 강조했다.

이에 계양소방서는 건설현장 화재예방 안전수칙으로 화재위험작업 승인절차 준수, 임시소방시설(소화기·비상경보장치·피난유도선 등) 적절 배치, 인화성·가연성 물질 지정 장소 보관, 용접·용단 작업 시 방화포 설치 및 주변 가연물 제거 후 작업 등의 실천 사항을 홍보하고 있다.

김희곤 서장은 “건설현장 내 화재는 한 번 발생하면 대형사고로 번질 위험이 매우 크다”며 “작업장 곳곳에 잠재된 화재 위험 요인을 근로자 모두가 인지하고, 안전수칙을 철저히 지키는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다”고 전했다.
