(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 계양구의회가 8일, 국민권익위원회가 주관하는 2024년 지방의회 종합청렴도 평가에서 2등급을 달성하며 우수한 청렴도를 입증했다고 밝혔다. 

계양구의회에 따르면, 이번 평가는 지방의회의 청렴 수준과 부패 취약 분야를 진단하고 공공분야의 투명성과 청렴성을 제고하기 위해 진행됐다.

지방의회 종합청렴도 평가는 전국의 광역의회 17곳과 기초 시·군·구의회 226곳을 대상으로 실시됐으며, 설문조사 결과인 '청렴체감도'(80%)와 각 의회가 1년간 추진한 부패방지 노력 결과인 '청렴노력도'(20%)를 합산한 후 부패사건 발생 현황에 따라 감점하는 방식으로 이뤄졌다. 

계양구의회는 '청렴체감도'에서 2등급을, '청렴노력도'에서 3등급을 기록하며, 최종적으로 2등급이라는 높은 평가를 받아, 인천시 자치구 의회 중 최고의 청렴도를 기록한 성과로, 계양구의회가 청렴한 의정활동을 지속적으로 추진해 왔음을 보여준다.

신정숙 의장은 “이번 성과는 계양구의회 의원 모두가 투명하고 공정한 의정활동을 위해 끊임없이 노력한 결과”라며 “앞으로도 구민들의 신뢰를 받는 의회가 될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 소감을 밝혔다.

계양구의회는 청렴도 향상을 위한 지속적인 노력의 일환으로, 매년 의원들을 대상으로 부패방지 및 청렴교육을 실시하고 있으며, 이를 통해 의원들이 법적 규정과 윤리적 원칙을 숙지하고 청렴한 직무를 수행할 수 있도록 지원하고 있다.

Incheon Gyeyang-gu Council announced on the 8th that it has proven its excellent integrity by achieving 2nd grade in the 2024 Comprehensive Integrity Evaluation of Local Councils hosted by the National Human Rights Commission of Korea.

According to Gyeyang-gu Council, this evaluation was conducted to diagnose the level of integrity and areas vulnerable to corruption in local councils and to improve transparency and integrity in the public sector.

The comprehensive integrity evaluation of local councils was conducted on 17 metropolitan councils and 226 basic city, county, and district councils nationwide. The survey results, ‘Integrity Perception’ (80%), and ‘Integrity Effort’ (20%), which are the results of each council’s anti-corruption efforts over the past year, were combined and then points were deducted based on the number of corruption cases.

Gyeyang-gu Council received a 2nd grade in ‘Integrity Perception’ and a 3rd grade in ‘Integrity Effort’, ultimately receiving a high evaluation of 2nd grade, showing that Gyeyang-gu Council has consistently pursued integrity-based legislative activities.
