(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시 상수도사업본부가 7일, 전국 최초로 수계전환 현장을 밀착취재한 다큐멘터리 ‘수계전환 3일, 물길을 바꾸는 사람들’의 제작을 마치고, 오는 8일부터 인천시청 본관 로비에서 열리는 상수도 사진전과 인천하늘수 사회관계망서비스(SNS) 채널을 통해 공개한다고 밝혔다.

상수도사업본부에 따르면, 이번 특별기획 다큐멘터리는 2024년 상수도사업본부의 수계전환 작업 현장을 생생하게 담아냈다. 

수계전환 진행 과정에 대한 밀착취재를 통해 구체적인 현장 정보를 제공하고, 상수도 관련 공사의 배경과 필요성을 담은 현장 기록을 통해 급수 관련 비상 상황에 대한 시민들의 이해를 높이고자 했다.

수계전환이란 특정 정수장을 일시적으로 가동하지 못할 때 가까운 정수장에서 물을 끌어와 대체 공급하는 작업이다. 

하루도 쉬지 않고 가동되는 정수장의 오래된 설비를 교체하려면 잠시 정수장을 멈추고 작업을 진행해야 한다. 

이때 ‘수계전환’이라는 물길을 바꾸는 작업을 통해 해당 권역의 시민들에게도 단수 없이 수돗물을 공급할 수 있게 된다. 

보통 2박 3일 동안 밤낮 없이 진행되는 수계전환 현장의 생생한 모습을 담기 위해 별도의 연출이나 각본 없이 다큐멘터리의 형식으로 촬영을 진행했다.

이른 새벽부터 늦은 밤까지 쉬지 않고 이어진 촬영을 통해 단수 시간을 최소화하기 위해 숨 가쁘게 진행되는 정수장 공사 현장, 비상근무를 이어가며 밤낮 가리지 않고 물길을 바꾸는 과정, 수질 유지를 위해 밤새 이뤄지는 소화전 방류와 24시간 수질 모니터링 작업 등 현장의 모든 순간을 고스란히 담아냈다.

10분 분량의 이 다큐멘터리는 상수도 직무 전문성을 높이기 위한 교육자료 및 안내자료로 활용될 예정이며, 상수도사업본부 공식 사회관계망서비스(SNS)(네이버블로그 등 5개 채널)를 통해 전 국민에게 공개된다. 

또한 다큐멘터리 영상을 바탕으로 요약영상과 광고영상을 추가 제작해 상수도 사진전, 수돗물 홍보 캠페인, 시민 행사, 대중매체 광고 등에서 다양한 용도로 활용할 계획이다.
