(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 6일 ‘해양재난구조대법’이 본격 시행됨에 따라 인천해양재난구조대를 구성해 출범한다고 밝혔다.

인천해경에 다르면, 인천해양재난구조대는 박동일 대장을 중심으로 인항, 하늘바다, 강화, 신항만, 영흥, 대청, 백령, 연평, 대명 등 총 9개 지부 676명의 인원으로 운영된다.

해양재난구조대의 설치 및 운영에 관한 법률(해양재난구조대법)은 민간 구조세력에 대한 국가적 차원의 체계적인 관리와 지원을 위해 제정됐으며 1월 3일부터 시행된다.

인천해경은 체계적인 교육·훈련을 통한 전문성 강화, 단체 피복 지급, 포상 기회 확대와 같은 사기진작 방안 추진 등을 통해 민간 구조 참여를 활성화할 계획이다.

이천식 서장은 “해양재난구조대 출범으로 국가적 차원의 체계적인 관리와 지원을 할 수 있는 토대가 마련됐다”며 “인천해경은 새롭게 출발하는 해양재난구조대와 협력체계를 강화해 안전한 바다를 만들어 나갈 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
