(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천강화경찰서가 10일, 2024년 마지막 등굣길 교통안전 캠페인을 갑룡초등학교 어린이보호구역에서 실시했으며 다음 캠페인은 `2025년 신학기에 재개 예정이라고 밝혔다.

강화경찰서에 따르면,  올해에도 어린이 교통안전을 위한 다각도의 노력을 전개했으며  갑룡초 등 5개 학교 앞 어린이보호구역 內 노란색 횡단보도를 설치하고 무단횡단 방지를 위해 시내권 중앙분리대를 증설했다.

아울러 주민 요구를 반영하여 강화여중 앞에 신호등을 설치하고 교통운영체계를 개선하는 등 어린이 교통사고 제로化 및 보행자 중심 교통인프라 개선을 위해 노력했다.

사고위험이 높은 초등학생 대상으로는, 등교시간대 교통순찰차 및 순찰차를 배치하여 교통안전활동을 전개했고 하교시간대에는 26명의 아동안전지킴이분들과 함께 아이들의 안전한 귀가를 위하여 최선을 다했다.

아울러, 경찰, 학교, 협력단체 등이 함께모여 학교 주변 횡단보도 및 통학로 안전상태 등을 점검하고 교통안전문화를 조성하는 등굣길 교통안전 캠페인을 정기적으로 실시하였다.  

이날 갑룡초 앞에서 진행된 2024년 마지막 등굣길 캠페인에도 영하의 날씨에도 불구하고 경찰, 학교와 녹색어머니회, 자원봉사센터 등이 어김없이 함께 했다.

남규희 강화경찰서장은 “올해 강화지역 내 어린이 교통안전을 위하여 노력해준 녹색어머니회 및 유관기관 관계자분들에게 깊은 감사를 드리며,  우리 강화경찰은 내년에도 안전한 보행환경 조성을 위해 지속적으로 교통캠페인을 실시하는 등 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
