(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 수도권매립지관리공사(이하 공사)가 오는 10월 2일부터 13일까지 12일간 수도권매립지 야생화단지 일원에서 ‘2024 드림파크 국화축제’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

공사에 따르면, 이번 축제는 방문객들에게 긴 무더위 끝에 다가온 가을의 정취를 나누고 가을 추억을 만들어 드릴 수 있도록 국화 토피어리, 코스모스, 댑싸리, 마편초, 핑크뮬리 등 가을을 대표하는 꽃밭을 선보인다.

아울러 가을음악회, 버스킹 등 문화공연으로 가을을 즐기는 방문객의 귀를 즐겁게 하고, 10월 6일에는 트로트 가수 김희재, 양지은의 공연으로 야생화단지를 꽃과 음악으로 물들일 예정이다. 

이와 함께 커피박 점토 키링 만들기, 폐목을 활용한 도토리 팽이 만들기 등의 업사이클 체험활동과 생태해설, 환경놀이, 에코도장 찍기 등 다양한 체험·교육 프로그램, 그리고 수도권매립지 인근 주민들이 운영하는 먹거리장터도 운영된다.

이번 축제에서는 ESG 경영 가치 확산 및 지역의 사회적경제 활성화를 위해 공사와 인천시사회적경제지원센터와 협업으로 인천시에 소재한 사회적기업의 부스를 지원하여 기업홍보와 판로개척도 돕는다.

송병억 사장은 “야생화단지가 계절을 더할수록 더욱 아름다워지는 것은 야생화단지에 꽃과 나무를 심어온 지역주민들의 노력과 방문해 주시는 시민 여러분 덕분”이라며 “6년 만에 돌아온 드림파크 국화축제에서 소중한 추억을 만드시길 바라고, 공사는 앞으로도 야생화단지가 시민들에게 지속해서 사랑받을 수 있도록 노력해 나갈 것”이라고 말했다. 

한편, 이번 축제가 열리는 드림파크 야생화단지는 올해 8월 산림청 주관 ‘아름다운 도시숲 50선’에 선정되는 등 인천 시민들의 휴식 공간으로 많은 사랑을 받아오고 있다.
