(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 관세청 인천공항본부세관이 MDMA(일명:엑스터시) 20g을 밀수입한 A씨(남, 25세)를 ‘마약류관리에관한법률’위반(밀수입) 혐의로 인천지검에 구속 송치했다고 밝혔다.

인천공항세관에 따르면, 세관은 올해 7월 국제우편물로 밀반입된 MDMA 20g을 통관 과정에서 적발하고는, 이를 수취 장소(남양주)로 통제배달하여 택배를 수취하는 미성년자 여고생 B씨(여, 17세)를 현장에서 검거했다.

하지만 B씨를 심문하는 과정에서 우편물의 실제 주인이 친오빠 A씨임을 파악하여, 추가로 잠복한 끝에 물건을 수취하려고 오는 A씨를 남양주 수취 장소 인근에서 긴급 체포할 수 있었다.

이후 A씨 주거지(경기도 용인시 소재 오피스텔)를 수색하는 과정에서 A씨 개인금고 속의 LSD 550장과 옷장 속에서 재배 중인 환각버섯, 포자, 환각버섯 재배 도구 등을 추가로 적발했다.

수사 결과, A씨는 본인이 투약할 목적으로 올해 6월 텔레그램을 통해 독일에서 MDMA를 구매했으며, 세관의 단속망에 걸리더라도 오배송된 것이라 진술할 목적으로 친동생의 명의와 주소를 이용했음이 드러났다.

인천공항세관 관계자는 “이번 사건은 통관 과정에서 MDMA를 적발한 것 외에도 국내 피의자 추적 및 수사를 통해 거주지에 보관 중이던 LSD를 추가 적발하고 환각버섯 재배 현장까지 확인하여 의미가 크다”며, “앞으로도 해외 불법 마약류의 국내 반입을 엄중히 단속하고, 마약류 밀수입자에 대한 검거 활동을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

또한, “청년 마약범죄가 증가추세에 있는 만큼, 지역 학생들을 대상으로 마약범죄 예방 교육을 실시하여 청년 마약범죄 예방에 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
